I just re-listened to the OandA Unmasked and here are my thoughts

Opie has lied about growing up poor, that is obvious. However when he was starting his radio career Anthony even admitted how upset he was pulling up to Opie's place the first time, because it was a shithole. In fact it was half of the shit hole.

Most of the fun intro stories are all about Opie and Anthony agreeing to fuck over the networks and do stunts that, honestly were unheard of at the time. It's easy to say now how anyone could do that, but they definitely pushed the limits which was why I tuned in on my shitty car *radio so long ago.

My favorite quote is Ant saying "we ruined the industry!!!" around 58 minutes. My second favorite part is when Ant brings up Patrice and the crowd is going nuts.

Anyway I always love browsing this board, I wish Opie, Ant, and Jim were doing legitimate things because that is so much more fun than joking about the half ass shows that are going on now.

Also props to Ronnie B with the joke around 1:03:00

This is probably the lamest/ most borng thing I ever wrote in my entire life but I really actually would love nothing more than Opie, Jimmy, and Anthony to sit down and have a good time

Nothing is gayer than the tired Schumer, Metzger, Gavin, jezebel board this place has been lately. There is definitely a void. Here's Ant now- https://gfycat.com/QuestionableFrighteningGrassspider

Only less funny.

What the fuck do you want from a sub dedicated to a show that literally does not exist anymore? Every post being hey remember this funny clip?

How about shitposts that don't exist? Is a picture of a pig with the title "lol Amy Schumer right guys? Lol" better than nothing? Is it really?

It would help if the retards of the sub stopped downvoting relevant posts.

This comment is too relevant for upvotes.

I have the AIDS.

Actually, when I first joined this sub, that is exactly what used to happen here. Then it became a sub of steady Roland hate, then Anthony was fired, and Opie's true colors came to be.

it's miles better than shitting on z-list nobodies enough to make them d-list

See, now that's sweet.

There is a huge difference between being poor and being cheap.

You are right. However I just find it hilarious that Ant got his first radio job thinking the guy who brought him on (Opie) was rich, when in fact he was living in a shitty apartment.

I honestly don't care if Gregg was cheap or if he was poor, the fact that Ant thought he made it only to realize night time disc jockeys aren't living in the lap of luxury is kind of funny

It reminds me of pre mainstream Internet days. You had your favorite cool jocks, so you convince your parents to drive you to a live event. And it turns out he is old as fuck and the hot chick DJ is a slob.

Another telling part of his "I was so poor!" tale being bullshit: he talks about not bothering to bring much of his stuff to Boston. Anthony brought everything because he was poor, Opie was just like "I'll buy new stuff when I get there."

Good point.

I've never believed the growing up poor story because you don't work a job as a caddy in your teens unless there is a golf course nearby which almost always means there is a good neighborhood surrounding it.

I just find it a bit interesting that Opie's first place on his own was (excuse my language) a crummy piece of dirt.

Of course it was a crummy piece of dirt.

Fred Hughes was busy running a tax evasion scam by claiming he was the head of a church.

Cement bags for lunch? Poor folk sandwich bread?

And also there were always transients adopted in and out of the home, living in the attic. Lots of times, a "sister" would leave and never be heard from again.

And also that the Hughes boys used to have to tend to the back yard by pulling a plow with their bicycles.

Remember the older Hughes brother that left one day and wasn't seen for weeks? That's the one Opie ran into at Spring Break a few months later. He was sleeping under a car. They met and literally said, "Hey."

With all that hard work and back-breaking labor and people constantly leaving, of course the home would fall into disrepair.

He's always been cheap. Doesn't have anything to do with being poor.

I'd say that's a 50/50 at best.

I was listening to an old show a couple weeks ago and he said he was from a middle class family. He just pulls the poor card because he thinks he can get some kind of "every mans credibility".

By the way Rich Vos is playing at the Stand NYC on June 10

Are the unmasked interviews in podcast form on itunes by chance?

Find out for yourself you lazy cunt.

I'm at work calm down

I too listen to the radio....
