I hate Rogan but credit must be given where credit is due. The way he runs his podcast is how Anthony should have done it. Have a few sponsors, make it free, and don't do the terrible green screen thing. Just have some cameras in the room like Rogan has. Also, Rogan was smart enough to have an online presence along time ago. He's got a message board on his site that's about as bad as this place and got the podcast thing started early. He was ahead of a lot of comics in this sense and it's seemed to help. The podcast definitely helped his comedy career and having an online presence gave him an already dedicated following.

I stopped going there a couple years ago but I'm not surprised that started happening when the podcast got big. The worst is when the mods tried to do their own podcast. It was cringy.

Actually, if Anthony had the Rogan setup from the start, I think we'd all have subscriptions. I think that would have completely changed the dynamic of the show

really? I get the feeling poeple are tired of his shit, for example he just didn't have a show for 6 days... I get vacations etc.. but that shit doesn't fly in constant/instant gratification year of 2016. I listen to JRE less and less and really don't have a good reason other than competition that produces better content more frequently.

His big mistake was changing the format from fun, "hangs" (often with 3 people, including lunatic Redban) to somber one-on-one interviews. I think he started loving the smell of his own farts and became convinced he needed to become serious to appease SJWs commenting on his YouTube videos. Also, he apparently had a real problem with Redban "derailing" conversations--Joe was too fucking stupid to realize that Brian was actually hilarious and providing some of the funniest moments in the show's history.

Unless he goes back to the old format with Redban and starts having regular appearances from his comedian friends, I suspect JRE will be over in a year or two. It doesn't even seem like anyone involved with it is having fun anymore.
