I kind of thought he lost a lot of his money in the 2008 financial crisis. Opie and Anthony seemed fairly calm about the recession and Jim was completely freaked out. And the money from that would have been his peak earning years from when he played to his biggest crowds and had the Free FM money, which they said was significantly better than what XM paid.

Plus he bought an expensive apartment and spends a bunch on whores of dubious gender.
