That pretty much covered why I fucking hate Opie so much. He's literally sitting next to someone from the ghetto and trying to SERIOUSLY convince him that he was poor because he didn't have name brand shit.
Everything he says that would point to how poor he is doesn't. He had a good school district and lived near a golf course where he made enough money to pay for college.
"We ate our lunch out of cement bags...once"
Probably because his mother forgot to grab regular bags at the store. Also the fact the he remembered it happening only once means that it was such a bizarre occurrence for something trivial.
Listen, Op, we don't give a shit you grew up in a well off family. Good for you. Just don't be a queer and try and convince people that you had it rough.
While I'm thinking about it, who the fuck complains that you had to bring lunch in a cement bag? At least you had a lunch.
He deleted his account but his comments stayed. The only way for comments to leave is deleting them yourself (individually) or having them removed by a mod.
Yeah I figured he deleted his account but why? It's always ponderous to me when I see a valid and rational comment from a user that has decided they need to delete their account STAT!
I grew up in Brentwood, NY and there's a public country club in town which is very odd because Brentwood, if you're not aware, has a high concentration of poor people, illegal immigrants, and other minority groups. Actually, there are so many minorities that most recently, a white HS kid is suing the school district for not doing enough to stop his harassment at the hands of all the other kids in the school.
I love how Ant immediately jumps in with, "Yeah, from the slums of Centerport." You can tell he'd been sick of hearing Opie cry poverty and couldn't wait for someone like Patrice to call him on it.
In his case because he hated looking like Anthony was the relateable working class guy and he was the college graduate who went straight into an easy life of radio. Anthony could tell all the working in attics in 100 degree weather or having to install stuff during snow storms stories. Opie's tough day story is when some jocks would ask him to go pick up their lunch while they were on air and he thought it was beneath him. He hated that their audience could relate much more to Ant's life than his.
Maybe your right but opies story of being a middle class kid who became a millionaire shock jock is still impressive the cunt does not need to add a bunch of fucking bullshit lies to it
It's mostly true that you have to be pretty tough to come out of a legitimate ghetto where showing any signs of weakness makes you the mark that everyone robs as soon as you step outside. There's always going to be Deebo's in those places. I guess there are dopes who bank on people making an association between that and a place that's just poor but not particularly dangerous. Dummy's story doesn't even have that going for it.

Opie thinks have a cheapskate upper middle class family equals poverty.

Patrice laughed in his face as he should have.

"They don't believe I'm poor, better call powdered milk gross!"
5 CookieHaid 2016-05-18
I like how when Patrice called him out, Opie described how powdered-milk was prepared...obfuscation.

I'm sure he really did have Patrice's 90 in white years line on the tip of his tongue, what an ass he is and was.

"I dont believe you"
"No the listeners have heard this for years"
See? Its true because ive been lying about it for so long

Philly Crew got to him.

And when he was really poor he would Caddy at a nearby Golf course. Cos every ghetto has a Golf club close by.

Birthdays were Opie's worst days. Now he sips grapefruit beer when he's thirst-ay.

why the fuck do people think having a poor upbringing makes them more intriguing?

This is so unbelievably embarrassing to listen to
5 panasonictooth 2016-05-18
I like how he says he used a cement bag "once". His mom probably just ran out of lunch bags until later that night. Poor darling.
3 packitchofsositch 2016-05-18
And how for easily a decade he heavily implied it was often. Someone must have finally told him it was too retarded for anyone to believe.
1 Really_Big_Dummy 2016-05-18
Using a cement bag for lunch is pretty hilariously ghetto
1 kapitol_burden 2016-05-18
Real ghetto kids don't get "bagged lunches" and would beat the fuck out of Opie and steal his cement-bag lunch without a second thought.
2 Really_Big_Dummy 2016-05-18
Even ghetto kids would laugh at a cement bag lunch bag.

The other day Dopie said everytime one of their dogs died, they'd get a new puppy the next day. Poor as hell!
5 Chris_Benoit_Daycare 2016-05-18
If I were a dog in that household Id wish for death every day.
4 packitchofsositch 2016-05-18
Dear god.
22:30
"Ya gotta Wii yet?"
laughs
laughs again
laughingly: "Nuthin'? That was pretty good."
There is no way he is not medically retarded.

Is this the one where Greg bitches about how gross powdered milk is and Patrice informs him he used to use fucking water?
Opie is a clown

Opie actually uses getting a car that was 20 years old as an example of how poor he was. !
2 bonniesretardsister 2016-05-18
Couldn't he just relate to Patrice as a guy who had a fucked up grill like him?
1 OpiesPendulousUdders 2016-05-18
HE COULDA BEEN A MODEL!
2 Dannyprecise 2016-05-18
He is so married to this lie that he had to justify it by saying he got a used car in 12th grade.

Look at the hood where Opie grew up. Must've been scary living here. http://tinyurl.com/CenterportSlums
