There's a JRE episode with Louis Theroux? Oh nice...

Joe's an ass. I always get sucked in to listening on youtube by a good guest, and I never walk away not thinking he's an ass. "Geraldo showed the world the Zapruter film, proving there was no way Oswald acted alone." How does the Zapruder film prove that? Also him saying that Charlie Chaplin wasn't funny...sure.

Well to most people's eye the footage shows JFK's head going back and to the left and pieces of his skull and brain ending up on the trunk of the car. That makes people think he was shot from the front. If he was shot from the front then Oswald couldn't have taken that shot since the book depository was behind the car. Before the footage was aired to the public news anchors were saying they saw the footage and the footage showed Kennedy being "thrown violently forward and then slumping down" which that footage does not show.

Most people see what they want to see. As someone who has shot a ton of different targets, I think it's perfectly reasonable to think the brain flying out of the front top of his head is consistent with an entry point behind him. If anyone thinks the top front of his head exploding is caused by a shot in front of him, I don't fault them one bit.

I only see one way to see that.. He goes back into his seat. He doesn't go "violently forward" as was initially reported. They changed the story after the public saw the footage to saying that he did go backwards but that was due to the propulsion effect of blood spraying forward (from the exit wound) pushing him back into his seat.

Frames 311-314 he does go forward on entry of the round. And frames 315 forward he flings back violently. I do think his skull exploding is the real kinetic force that's throwing him around & not so much the round pushing or pulling him.

Nobody who watched that would report it showing Kennedy being thrown violently forward. It makes no sense that anyone would say that based on what you see. The biggest most violent motion you see is his head and body going back. Regardless of where he was shot from if you are describing that video how do you describe it as Kennedy being thrown violently forward? It's just not what you see but that's how Dan Rather described it.

I agree with that. If you watch it full speed; it looks like the front of his head explodes & his head is thrown violently backwards.

Shit I thought I was on the o and a sub but I must have clicked on some JFK conspiracy sub instead

There were two guys in an argument over Sarajevo politics the other day, we go all over the place.

O&A interviewed a coroner who testified to congress about JFKs death. Pretty much all the misinformation about the event happened because the guy who did the first autopsy had never handled a shooting before.

I liked the discussion on the doc "knuckle" about the gypsy family the Joyce's .. I highly recommend that documentary

The most interesting and least mentioned thing about the first broadcast of the Zapruder film in 1975 on Geraldo Rivera's show "America Tonight" is the fact that Geraldo spent the first 47 minutes of the 65 minute episode:
- Interviewing Raquel Welch and
- Exploring the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle.

The world premiere of the Zapruder film was almost an afterthought, buried in the last block of the show. Both Raquel Welch and the Bermuda Triangle were given more airtime than the world's first broadcast of footage of the President being assassinated.

You can watch the complete episode here: http://geraldo.com/page/good-night-america-14

Boy how times have changed.

I dont think Charlie Chaplin was funny...just an opinion.

There's something so familiar about a comedian who holds Hitler in high regard and exclusively dates young teen girls and treats them cruelly

It's on the tip of my tongue but I can't place the name of who this reminds me of...
