I like Oliver's topics, but I feel like a lot of his monologues follow the format of presenting an issue and describing it to the audience using a pop-culture analogy, and they don't always hit.

Wow this made the Daily Show look bad. Gavin was clearly making up fake names for players, and making it obvious that he's making them up by coming up with ridiculous names like "Junebug". But the Daily Show edited it to try to make it seem like he was really trying to come up with names? They aren't even good at propaganda at this point.

He explained everything at the beginning of his show today and it was even more ridiculous than that. They talked to him for an hour and a half. The level of bullshit is just astounding, I know the Daily Show is suppose to be liberal but Jesus Christ.

Watch Gavin's show today where he breaks down that interview, it is hilarious. He talks about how the guy edited in a "ghost voice" to talk shit to him after the interview was over.

I've always been curious how long those field piece interviews really are, how much they're edited, and what the banter is before and after the interview between the host and guest.

Yeah, he said they interviewed him for like 30 minutes. And he said the interview was getting real heated. He told the guy, "you can only be smug, if you are right". And there was a lot of tension in the room. Obviously they edited all of that out. Also he said they have a team of writers with ipads standing next to them, fact checking everything he says. And then they edited his 30 minute interview into a 30 second clip. And then afterwards they edited in a "ghostvoice", where the guy says "your down 2 to nothing" to Gavin.
