Gervais's Special Correspondents getting shit reviews.

It premieres I think today on Netflix so will reserve judgement till have seen it but it's getting slated by critics. Once again, no Merchant, no accolades.

I love Gervais but this shit is getting raped, 29% on rotten tomatoes and words like "embarrassing", "mess" and "nigger lover" are appearing in a lot of the big reviews.

Did they really say "mess" ? Thats brutal.

Comedian tastes success, comedian becomes an artiste. This sounds so familiar.

The trailer stinks, it looks like something the 80's would do.

Ricky shouldn't be shitting on people at the G Globes after putting out this turd that i haven't seen yet.

It may look like an 80s film, but to give the 80s due credit it was an exceptional time for family and light hearted, fun films. So be fair.

Ricky just doesn't have the skills. Something that's become very apparent as everyone with skills has either walked in the opposite direction or been given a back seat by this braying, big-headed, soporific bell-end

Nothing since Extras has been good.

What other non-Merchant project got bad reviews?

Derek got shat on here in the UK. Invention of lying didn't exactly set the world on fire. It's more the drop off in plaudits from the Office/Extras to what he's doing now.

Derek was embarrassingly bad.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_J5MtYNispY American Dad took it to the woodshed before it even existed

Derek was a load of bollocks. BesidesKarl being in it (the only reason I watched it)

Pure tripe

The Derek character has a heart of gold though.

lifes too short wasn't a hit either and that was with Merchant

They did a terrible film before the invention of lying too. Cemetery junction

I need to see Cemetery Junction again. As I recall... it was a coming of age story. And possibly the gayest shit I've ever seen. Invention of Lying was terrible also. The podcasts, the Office were good. Extra's was OK. Everything else is garbage.

It's weird because I listened to their XFM shows obsessively and their podcasts, but it was immediately obvious when to me at the time that cemetery junction was a pile of wank

True, haven't seen that to be fair.

It wasn't great but the Liam Neeson bit is universally considered gold.

oh yeah I completely forgot about Derek - it was such a huge piece of shit.

Didn't like Derek, even if I wanted to. Invention of Lying was descent and I liked it overall.

Well that's a lot different than saying he got no accolades. Reviews were mixed on Derek, but it was nominated for Emmys. Invention of lying I'm pretty sure is a critic favorite, it just didn't do well in theatres. The guy made one of the best shows of all time, you can't expect everything he makes to be gold. Still can't deny his talent.

The main joke in the trailer is Ricky pretending to not get what grow a pair means. Unless his character is another retard that's some shoe horning going on

Merchant's solo work stinks every bit as much as Gervais' stuff, plus they both made Life is Short which is one of the worst things to ever happen in human history.

Like the office they should to do a US adaptation of An Idiot Abroad and send Bobo around the world while he gives updates to Colin Quinn via phonecalls.

And they ruined that last season of Idiot Abroad by throwing that little human stool in there.

I still enjoyed it, but it was less good. They needed to mix up the formula, but i'm not sure adding a sidekick was the way to go. Just make Karl do things instead of going to places or some shit.

I liked it !

More like no-2002 no accolades.

smerch is his handler, without him gervais is a pontificating douche.

Derek season 1 was pretty good, IMO. Season 2 was among the worst things I've ever witnessed.

All his movies are shit. He needs to go back to podcasting with the Manc Twat.

I think the possessive of Gervais is Gervais'. Happy to discuss at length with any interested parties.

It should be Gervais's, but enough retards had trouble processing more than one s in a row that your method has been declared acceptable along with the traditional, correct one.

Just out of interest, what if the name in question already has an apostrophe in it? Like the store Harrod's. What would be the possessive form?

By the letter of the law, you would have to write Harrod's's. So you just work around it by playing with syntax. Harrod's implies "Harrod's store" which is possessive in a vacuum, but in this case "Harrod's" is just a proper name like "Walmart."

Cheers

I think that you are wrong

Hes right, English is just fucking stupid

Where are we on Ricky's retard show? SNIFFFFF

If Jim Norton got cut out if watch it but he didn't so I'm not gonna. Invention of lying was good but I'm sure this is terrible.

Just watched it. The ONLY reason I enjoyed it was because I work in radio and the jokes hit very close to home. It's slow moving, there's action but it lasts a total of about 45 seconds.

As for Vera Farminga's character, it's almost as if they watched Bates Motel and wanted to reapply Norma Bates' bitchiness and horrible personality in another medium.

If it's not Game of Thrones or Rick and Morty, I'm not watching. Redditard4lyfe
