Watching comedy live with a crowd is always 10x funnier than watching it on TV. Not a knock against Jimmy, happens to everyone.

I was at the taping of the special he did in Cleveland. His opener bombed hard and I think that really set the tone for the crowd. On top of that, his material was old by the time he got to taping. I also saw him at a non special show at a smaller venue and he killed it.

I think seeing it live with a bunch of other people and everybody's laughing makes you appreciate it more than it really deserves.

i crack a smile at his stand up specials at the most... i will watch the next one with hi hopes as i have all his former ... but as a civilian I feel he can't write jokes at all, it always seems to be about shock value, taboo language/ subjects and attacking an easy target .... he is funny, i love him on the radio .... but NEVER on his own, i find his stand up as disappointing as his other SOLO adventures.
