Yeah ever since the bad press he got about how soft he's gotten, his pr machine has really been spreading the word about how good it's gotten, how he's evolved, etc. But the truth is it is fucking awful. He was a fucking monster in the 80s and 90s, no doubt the greatest there's ever been. But he fucking sucks. He's become everything he raged against. When I hear him now, I hear the elderly WFAN version of Imus that Stern regularly ridiculed in the 80s and 90s. His interviews are even terrible these days. Robin and Howard had great chemistry, but that's gone.
I was a loyal Stern fan, and try to be even handed about it. Right now, I think it's pretty close to Opie/Jimmy territory right now. Where it still has an edge is maybe the 1st hour riff, and with specific interviews/guests.
It's definitely not close to the Artie years or even the first few post Artie years.
Fuck Howard. He and Tits should get their own tv show on Lifetime, Oxygen, or Logo to talk about their periods and how they became everything they used to hate.

Most comedians "peak" before 40. The idea that Stern or Opie and Anthony are going to return to their former peaks is wishful thinking.

I'm trying to prove you wrong but Carlin is the only name I'm coming up with.

I just listen to his 101 channel for the great old stuff on there. Howard 100 is awful.

You could just go back to his older stuff instead. The Gary apology tape is always a solid go-to for me.
