You can tell someone to go fuck themselves before you leave if they are being a dick or intentionally antagonizing you as Pat was doing when he realized that what he was saying was bothering her. Why should she make an excuse and sneak away? Pat was trying to be shocking and get a rise out of Bonnie and he did and she called him an asshole and left. No big deal.
Nah he was lightly poking fun at retards. She walked out on him simply saying the word retard in a general joke. He was hardly being a dick. Getting in a fuss like that and storming out is like saying "fuck you" to someone. If she wanted to leave so bad she could have done so without that. Say you have to go the bathroom or you have a call, etc That would be away to not hear the joke and not come off like your arguing what he is doing is so bad.
