That's really dumb, supportive Opie makes them stronger. And if Jim leaves/Ant doesn't become his buddy again him taking the high road and not shitting all over Ant helps him comedians.
...Most comics are train wrecks like Ant, they are also giant pussies like Jim. They don't want the Opester shitting all over them, him showing that they have a sort of "Safe Space" (gross) on Opie Radio will help him continue on without the others.
If Jim leaves it's going to be "Opie Radio with Sam in the morning" and a daily rotation of comics, and he'll be fine, Sirius likes him. If they didn't he wouldn't have been resigned after Ant, or let go during the last "Cake Stomp" raid.
