I'm ready for the downvotes because this sub is gay for him for some unforseen reason. But seeing him lecture Ant on addiction is one of the most hypocritical things I have seen. So Ron gave up drugs and alcohol. Has anyone seen Ron lately? He is morbidly obese. He obviously has an out of control food addiction. Obesity probably cause more deaths than alcohol or drugs. The fat fuck needs to get off his pedestal and get on a treadmill. It just amazes me how he thinks he can speak on recovery. He is currently killing himself with food.

Bennington traded one addiction for another. That's one of the problems with rehab. The alcoholism is often just a symptom that something else is wrong. Ant probably needs counseling and therapy more than rehab. Alot of his problems don't necessarily seem alcohol related. Often seems like reckless self-destructive behavior that are a result of unresolved childhood issues due to piss poor parenting causing emotional/psychological problems. Could be alcohol is exacerbating the problem. Could be that once alcohol stops clouding it up, you can better identify and address the root cause that is causing both the alcoholism and self-destructive behavior.

I mean, obviously Ronnie isn't a portrait of ideal health. And you're right, obesity causes more deaths than alcohol or drugs. However, I just don't see Ronnie beating the fuck out of a comedy club owner's daughter because he's had one too many slices of pizza. To me, that's why his hypocrisy is at least tolerable. He's eating himself to death, but at least he hasn't pushed every single person away from him and alienated a fanbase in the process.

I think he's fat just because, not an addiction or coping mechanism. He turned into a good family man, and stopped being a liability at work. He has poor choices in friendship, but other than that he has his shit together more than most non addicts that I know.

Smoking and over eating may lead to an earlier death - but while you're alive, you don't leave a wake of destruction that effects everyone in your life that drugs/alcohol or potentially sex addictions do.
No one is a saint, and everyone has some crutches to get thru this miserable exercise called life. But for someone's loved ones and their own personal happiness, turning in coke and booze for food and cigars is a big win

It's not valid. Ron has been through all of the things Ant is about to go through. He's explaining and encouraging. Ant asked Ron to be there, Ron hasn't been pontificating how he's clean every day. If he did maybe that would be hypocritical. But because he's gone through all of it it's the opposite of hypocrisy.
