ooooo, he co created a show that lasted 28 episodes. he must be rolling in the dough. hell Tough Crowd had 200+ episodes and no one thought he was rich back in 2005
Hahaha as creator he gets residuals from every time every episode is aired, streamed, and DVD sales. Plus his fee as writer/producer was way over scale. And WGA scale is great, even for cable in 2005.
He's not signed yet, also I think he's signed to Bobby (riot cast) I guess it's gonna be more of an appearance, they'd be dumb not to go to sirius tho uh.
So basically instead of using his incredible radio scouting skills he brags about he's just going to put all the Riot Cast shows on his network without any credit to Bob Kelly and then act like he's some hot shit eye for talent. Thats cool.
Not to interject, but I never found much funny about Bushwick. Got home invaded and mugged within 6 days on the same block (hart between knickerbocker and Irving) 12 years ago. Moved to queens, not a problem since.
Also I used to live over there too on Hart street and knickerbocker, how fucking crazy I's that? Literally the same block,i was crashing on my friends couch. He also got mugged when he lived there haha. What the fuck are the chances. Did you ever eat at Tony's pizza? That's my favorite pizza in NY.
Tony's is the best! (well, de Faras is the best but you need a few hours and a ride to Midwood). I make the long 3 mile trip from sunnyside every month or so for some Tony's. But the neighborhood has changed--I'm not even scared to be there anymore!
I've been on the same block for 5 years. (Bushwick and flushing) the past three it's gotten so much whiter and safer. It's basically becoming the new Williamsburg
I think "east Williamsburg" as a designation was invented around 2005 and it's been creeping east from the Morgan stop steadily since. Not that there's anything wrong with that!
Yeah Morgan is hipster city now. I still live across the streets from the projects flushing stop is as black as ever but with more of a police presence
na ive got no stake in the comedy scene- can't sit through 'newish' comics, and I can get sick of my favorites really quickly. bushwick is just a funny place to live.
I'm interested, though still somewhat skeptical of the Bushwick scene for comedy. That said I thought the same thing about LIC/Astoria years ago, and was wrong. The Creek has flourished and there's actually a full Queens scene with bar shows, theaters, open mics, and weird ethnic street parties. L train to the G train, it's pretty close
Yeah it's pretty damn funny when you first start listening he seems to be rehashing a lot of shit and probably is running low on stories already though but you should check it out
It's a solid podcast. If it comes to Opie Radio, it's an automatic delete. Anybody doing business with Opie is a fake and gay.
Kevin is funny. He's just doesn't understand how much Opie is hated and essentially career cancer. I will never support a comedian that appeared on Opie willingly since Ant was fired.

1 maloonigans 2016-03-29

my source was the WGA rate http://www.wga.org/uploadedFiles/writers_resources/contracts/min2014.pdf
admitedly thats for 2014 instead of 2003, but since he was head writer i assumed he would be paid slightly more.
1 maloonigans 2016-03-29
Tough crowd isn't on reruns and doesn't sell DVDs. And that's not to mention good other credits.
Take the hit.
1 SWIMsfriend 2016-03-29
such as?
is this 2005? who the fuck buys chapelle show dvds, and reruns don't make you as much money as you think dude.

That's a score for then Opie channel. (I also still like Race Wars, despite Sherrod--though he is leagues better on that show than when he's on Opie)

fucking great i love his show i been listening non stop to the few episodes he has on riotcast for about 2 weeks now.
Hes the angriest man in the world, a really talented comedian and he should be WAY more famous than he is.
His story about hosing down his neighbours and subsequently defending himself in court was fucking great
1 TakesTheWrongSideGuy 2016-03-29
He could be more famous but he literally shits on any one in the industry which is great for us, but it can't be good for your career as a comedian.
