Bill like a lot of his contemporaries have fallen into a problem where they insisted on doing a special every year. The best manage a couple good to great specials and then they fall off into mediocrity. The worst have kinda weak specials every year. Burr is the high end and norton is the low end.

But even louie who basically started this trend began to fall off after several specials. If the same guys did a special every 2 or 3 they'd have much stronger specials.

That's probably why I love Jeselnik and Mulaney's specials. They wait until it's strong start to finish.

True, but new in town is a borderline masterpiece. I knew it wouldn't be as good. It was still better than almost anything Norton has put out.
