Opie and Jim is actually good, at least sometimes

I haven't listened to a whole show, but the Dick Cavett with Gilbert is great (basically like Gilbert's Podcast but with Norton and Normand on the side), Jimmy Carr's appearance, and just a few other ones, the Pete Davidson stuff,

Opie is still unfunny but he mostly shuts up in these clips and the other comics support it well.

Its kind of fucked up how much things have reversed.

I kind of agree, it's not terrible. Interesting interviews and it sort of talks about news stories I otherwise wouldn't know about. Although I disagree with you about Opie not talking as much. He actually talks way more than he used to, probably trying to justify his own existence on the show. I find myself shaking my head dozens of times at shit he says on the show.

"Although I disagree with you about Opie not talking as much." No you don't because I am talking about specific clips, I don't listen to whole shows. In those clips he pretty much shuts his mouth compared to normal. Especially the Dick Cavett.

i don't listen anymore - but i check out the clips that make it here...

i haven't been able to make it through a single clip in months. i want to find a redeeming factor - but the show fucking sucks and every time Opie opens runs his uneducated mouth I'm too irritated to pay anyone else attention.

Used to feel the same way, heard a couple Pete Davidson clips and thought it was the funniest shit in years

Same here, I'd not listened until he kicked out the Stangle. That was old school. It was great, I tried the next couple of shows but they just re-hashed the Pete stuff and that was shit. Nice to see that first glimmer though.

It's funny because Jimmy has pretty much "made his bed" with leaving in October, but the show is getting some momentum. There are some cringey segments from time to time still, but O&J have developed some of that magic "chemistry" this place likes to rant about.

Opie has loosened up some, learned to quietly "steer the ship" better, show still isn't O&A but there are worse listens...

Me too. I crave the sweet release of death.

No.

I used to listen to it because Jimmy made it worthwhile and hate listening to Opie was fun. But I couldn't anymore with his shallow nothing song break to start every show. His hubris in thinking his non opinions are interesting, when it's just him repeating the same 2 lines PURIOD. Tits still does his fake radio guy voice, still chronically lies and makes up the most boring stories, still is incredibly thin skinned, with a wet and sloppy mouth. He interjects with the least funny shit all the time. He spoils any funny moment with his obnoxious fake laughter.

If the shows are ever good at any part, it's despite the efforts of Tits.

I know exactly what you mean, it was really great for hate listening, opie moments would come up one after a nother. I would sometimes yell at the radio alone in my car at opie and sherrod at how fucking awful they were. Again, I only listen to highlight clips now, but it seems OPie is the same as ever but holds back a bit more and is more comfortable just letting everyone else talk. Meh, its not the greatest show but its interesting enough in the highlight clips. I don't think I could handle listening without a good guest.

Oh fuck off. It's not actually good. It's bearable. Look how low your standards have fallen. Christ man.

First of all, you have no idea how shitty my standards were in the first place. Secondly, its really a matter of taste. also...Any radio/podcast suggestions?

Peckahs.

No, it's not.

The key seems to be having a genuinely funny person in the room. Even then it's not that great but it's alright. The reason the show is so shit is because the unfunny people - Sherrod, Vic Henley - are so aggressively bad that they completely destroy it.

There needs to be a couple at least (and sometimes Jim is that person), or the funny person has to dominate like a fucker and just say great stories and have their own energy. The first time they had gilbert on it sucked balls, they just didn't have a good joking banter.
