I remember when Louis was in one time and they were talking about comics who were really funny and should be more famous. It came around to Keith and Louis goes something like "Chris Rock once told me that in show business, black people need to work twice as hard as white people to have the same level of success. Keith Robinson doesn't work twice as hard."
Well black people working twice as hard is the equivalent of white people working regularly hard. It's all relative. Keith is working adequately hard as is expected from a black man, which is a quarter hard as your average Korean and a third hard as your typical Vietnamesian. Altogether, he's working about as hard as the average white woman but it doesn't transfer like that. Arabs work as hard as a white man, but behave like half a white man (or your average Russian, but then we're getting into fractals) so it cancels out.

He was working with a personal trainer and keeping his hips straight. It's was working and he shaved a couple strokes off his score and was close to par. Then he had a stroke and it's all messed up now.
I imagine Keith is really funny around his comic friends, but the standup I've seen is just terrible. I assume he might be lik Norton, more funny in the room than on a stage. I know he has been on O&A here and there, nothing memorable really comes to mind though.
He didnt give a flying fuck 90% of time about promoting his shit. Kevin Hart had to force the guy to promote his own fucking special. First legitimately produced special. Keith was cool opening for Wanda Sykes, Kevin, and just following huge acts he was friends with. Funny dude. Probably a good guy. But seems lazy as shit
Time it took to get to the studio. I seem to remember that he was pretty far out in New Jersey, closer to Philly than NY for many years. So to visit the show most days it would be close to an all day trip more or less. I think he'd have been on more if they were still in afternoon drive, because him, and Norton could have left at 7 - then done gigs in the city.
I remember one time where he was on and started talking about gang raping a girl when he was a teenager, which Opie promptly told him to stop talking and it was never brought up again. It got awkward right away, and you could tell right in his voice that he knew right away that he made a mistake telling the story on the radio but didn't know how to pull the cord. So who knows, maybe that was a factor.
*Edit - No I don't know how long ago it was, but it was a while ago. I believe Bobby Kelly was in at the time, bringing up his steak/retard psuedo-rape stories, which was what led into it.
I dunno, man, my recollection was that it was a pretty fucked up story and Opie shut it down abruptly, flat out told Keith he shouldn't be telling it on the air. If I'm remembering correctly, he was under the impression at first that it was a gang-bang and eventually figured out it wasn't consensual. I remember not hearing Keith on the air for a lot of years after that.
I'm just going off what I remember, dude, I'm not passing judgement, I'm just putting it out there that it might be a factor. He talked about fucking a chick against her will on the air and Opie shut it down, maybe that made shit awkward.
I know what you're talking about and I'm pretty sure he got through most of the story. Opie definitely had him tone it down a bit but he ended the story by saying they only got detention and it was a different time.
