So I would have to say the numbers are way higher. Keep in mind not every listener is a reddit or twitter whore, a lot of older gentlemen who are not fond of internet and social media are longtime listeners.
Rat has over 6,000 twitter followers, no one knows who the fuck Rat is unless they listen to TACS. So I would say 6,000 at least.
Just like I wouldn't use Ant's twitter to judge, I wouldn't use Opie's to judge the listenership of O&J.
I would use someone like Mars (or whoever does his job over there now, I haven't listened in awhile) that is behind the scenes and no one would know or give a fuck about unless they were a regular listener.

Neil DeGrasse Tyson and Bill Nye have been the welcome exceptions, but the Bill Nye interview was mainly him getting frustrated at Anthony and Nick DiPaolo's stubborn disregard for climate change based on nothing but political affiliation. StarTalk is filmed in the same place, so smart people are in and out of the area. It took him awhile but he finally snagged some.
Anthony also gets some of the comedians that are buddies with the Legion of Skanks and they're generally funnier on Legion of Skanks. Like Zac Amico, who you can also see on the real ass podcast with Luis J. Gomez.
