Ants Court date: By now they should've gotten to the point where he's given a choice between reduced criminal charges and going to trial. Where's that lawyer?
Next time I'm up I'm going to insist that I defend myself as a sort of minor protest. That would be an interesting movement. "Defend Yourself" Fuck the Lawyers!
I'll go to prison because I tell the judge I'd rather represent myself? Every public defender I've seen knows nothing about the case they are representing. They don't do the job.
They still know more than you do. And Judges generally have no patience for pro se defendants. Having a PD represent you might get you a year. Representing yourself will get you two.
Well reasoned but it's not right. PDs don't know shit about the defendants and judges, once they hear a BOP from a defendant shouldn't take it any differently than if it was from a law firm.
Im not a lawyer but been in ny courts plenty. Most likely the case will be adjourned for some bullshit like they didnt have th results of his psych eval. These cases drag on forever
It usually takes 3-4 before they get to that point, at least where I am. In NY I imagine it could take longer unless they are ready to just get it over with or the DA is having a piss poor day.
Probably be continued to another date in all honesty. They usually drag, I doubt this will ever see a trial unless the DA feels there is good evidence and Ant won't take a plea.
I always imagined my bullshit cases dragged on because it was a low level charge and I had the public defender. I thought Ants lawyer and his innate impatience would speed things up.
Case loads, lawyers needing more time for gathering materials, trying to arrange a deal and lawyer requesting more time, DA not familiar with the case yet, there's slot of reasons and I don't know them all its just slow because it is
It took me 4 visits to court before I was even convicted, another month to sentencing.
I been through worse shit than him, and had a confession from a co defendant and multiple witnesses. It still took 4 visits. That is with a plea bargain on an outright felony case.
Ant has softball shit, he will have his pool open when this resolves.
Domestic Violence, so in other words beating on a woman, is not a "real felony"?
Also, did you ask if I'm sheltered because I've never been brought up on felony charges? Its not called being sheltered its called being a decent human.
I've never really had to deal with the court systems before, but one time in my late teens early 20's I got a speeding ticket, and like most young 20-somethings I was fucking broke. I had no money at this point in my life and I got that speeding ticket continued 6 times before I paid it. I just assume you could do the same with any other ticket, or charge but like I said I've never really been to court since you know I don't beat my girlfriends.

that right to a speedy trial thing is long over. Lawyers get paid by the hour, and the courts know that.

You'll never prove me wrong if you don't get out there and commit some more crimes. I recommend driving drunk or assaulting minorities.

I'm tryin. These fucking cops around here . . they don't show up and do a job.
1 TheSweetSniff 2016-03-07
BTW How does that sound as a comedy tag line? "Do a Job" Is it as good as "Get'r Done?" I'm filled with self loathing.

I've been on both sides of some pretty serious shit(non domestic) and these things will still take 6+ months to finish even with paid attorneys.

He's charged with two felony counts. How is that softball?
-1 AntsCamera 2016-03-07
DV felonies are softball as shit.
Are you sheltered?
I am talking about real felonies, open and shut case that took forever (in my case).
Ant goes home at the end of the day no matter what, it is not a fucking real felony.

You forget you're dealing with O&A mongoloids. Being charged with horrific shit is a natural part of life for most of this sub.

Nobody cares about your tortured criminal past, shitdick. Next time keep it to yourself.
