Howard's show took a sharp nosedive after Artie left. It's still "meh," but at least his life isn't in shambles and he still does an interesting interview every now and then.
I'm just saying there's a very limited period of time where you could call O&A funnier than Howard's show. They were never even close to his level of success, no matter what they wanted us to think. Crazy that's the reality, but here we are.
I'd say when both shows went to Satellite, O&A had an edge over Howard in terms of being funny. Listening to the old terrestrial shows, Howard kicks O&A's ass. Even the stuff from the 80s is still funny to listen to today. But yeah, Howard obviously has been much more successful throughout his career.
