This is not really about this specific clip but in general Paul Mooney has terrible timing/delivery.
I understand he wrote for some legends like Prior and Chappelle but whenever I see him do his own thing he is very clunky. He has very poor flow or rhythm. Kinda like Jimmy.
Paul Mooney has the natural rhythm of a white guy in a sketch written by Paul Mooney.
Mooney turns into a defensive cunt the second they apply his own retarded "You ain't Merican, y'alls stole the land" logic back at him. Less than 5 minutes into the clip.
20 minutes in, Mooney keeps making safe, vague "deep" comments about blacks and then never explains anything he said when pressed. You can tell he's the kind of guy who says wild shit and he's used to white people being scared and just saying "Good point!!!" He speaks nonsense, he's not particularly funny in this whatsoever, not sure if he is funny at all but I recall him on Chappelle's Show which was great.
