The wild card is how many folks are signed up for Gavin, etc.... If it was just Cumia, I'd bet it would've settled in the low to mid 4 figures by now. Gavin's people seem pretty loyal so they could count for a decent amount, I doubt LoS, ESD, etc.... bring in huge numbers, even though I like them a lot.

I'm not so sure about the sponsors, he didn't have many before Dani, and they've seemed to drop off after it. I can't see them bringing in huge money.

The other wild card is the studio rental time that he offers to other podcasts, anyone know what his rates are?

I really don't think he would be bringing on other shows the way he is without having enough revenue to support them. I'm willing to bet he has way more subscribers than people think. How many I can't be sure but all that annoying race shit has a big audience elsewhere.

I don't think Gavin is the big draw, but I do think he probably brings in more money than ESD, and LoS(I've mentioned my love for LoS multiple times here). I'm basing it on a few things -

1) Twitter/Youtube fan base - LoS has about 17,000 followers between the two. Gavin has about 135,000 between the two platforms. I'll leave ESD out , out of fairness because his show is reasonably new to Cumia's platform, and he had a long break between putting on a show.

2) I think Gavin's fan base skews a bit older, and are probably more willing to open their wallets, rather than hunt down a torrent, etc....

3) LoS's fans seemed to have not cared as much about the move to Cumia's channel. I also think many have clued into the fact that they still release the best episode of the pair for free on Youtube and Libsyn. There is less incentive to join because most of their good stuff isn't locked behind a pay wall.

My educated guess would be that he needs about 10,000 subscribers to break even, with the studio eating most of the cost. I remember Dave Smith in an episode of Legion of Skanks mentioning "tens of thousands" of potential viewers on the Cumia network, but that was months ago and the numbers may have dropped.

He has to have quite a few to continue doing it. If he has 10k subscribers he would make 70k a month which seems decent but less than he used to make at Sirius so I'm assuming sponsors pay pretty well.

Just look at his expenses he's got 3 paid employees. He's got 5 shows. He's got very expensive equipment. He's got a super expensive studio in Manhattan. His expenses are probably close to 1 million per year. He's got to have like 18,000 subscribers just to break even.. My guess is he has way more than that.

If just 1 out of every 10 of his Twitter followers subscribe than that right there is 25K.
