That's actually not fair to Marty Jannety. Despite his demons and setbacks, Marty Jannety showed signs of brilliance both while as a member of the Rockers AND as a singles competitor, before he fell into drugs and depression.
Whereas, Opie has absolutely ZERO of these issues, and has continued to show he contributes nothing. If you don't believe me, go back and watch an old Rockers match. You don't have to pretend Jannety isn't in the ring to enjoy the match.
Teller is the actual magician for sure, but that undersells Penn. He brings a lot of showmanship and charisma that 99.999% of humans do not have. Teller is 1 in 10 million and Penn is 1 in a million or whatever.
Marty Jannety was talented, had charisma and was probably a hoot backstage. He dressed/dresses like a dunce and is dumb like a rock. Some similar aspects. Some crucial differences.
