I couldn't put my finger on it, but there was something really off about that whole pilot. There is no transitional music, to cut from scene to scene, or even reaction sounds. Even the sound effects were cheap, and too far between.
Of course this isn't the only thing wrong with the pilot, but putting in some music would have made a huge difference.
