Part of this blithering idiot believes that Uncle Paul is a real person who might rape his children. He knows its Jimmy doing a character, but he has that lingering doubt that this might be real and it makes him scared and want to tinkle.
Surprised people actually think Opie is offended by Uncle Paul now that he has kids and that's why he ignores him. It could play into it somewhat but it's obvious the biggest reason is that he's too dimwitted to play off of him and doesn't want to embarrass himself trying. Same reason he ignores the other characters now.
Except for the fact that Opie and Jim have talked about it on air and Opie flat-out said he ignores Uncle Paul because he doesn't like the character and it makes him uncomfortable. Kind of kills your theory.
Kinda like how Opie said that he "used to" ignore Chip because he didn't know how to work with him, then mysteriously continued to ignore him to this day.

Here's my theory. When he sees Lindsey's face, he pictures Bam fucking her. When he sees his kids' faces, he sees Lindsey's face. Therefore, when he looks at his kids, he sees Bam fucking them. So now he's all wierd about kid-fucking.
