i only discovered O&A three years ago. Google isnt helping me. i remember hearing a show where it must have been shortly after 9/11 as it was all that was mentioned. but im wondering if any hardcore fans know what show was closest or (being a morning show) were they on air when it went down.

Yes they were on the air, they sent their intern Peter Davidson the first down there as their correspondent ... It didn't end well

Imagine how much more insufferable jimmy would be if he was a 9/11 survivor.

He would preface everything with "As a 9/11 survivor..." and then remind us of the warning signs of PTSD on a daily basis.

I personally preferred O&A only because we had more information by afternoon drive.
But, Stern's show is also worth a listen. They're both time capsules of the event.

I definitely remember O&A needing to broadcast from LI that fateful shitday. It was a big one. Don & Mike had a seminal live broadcast from WNEW, as well. Ron & Fez were no effing joke live broadcasting on 9/11, either. It was an awful Time. But all these Dudes epitomized actual Broadcasting in those real moments. Always respect them for all for it. Each shift, each daypart, solidified a radio Brotherhood that would not be broken by politics. For the Broadcaster, or the Listener.
