I don't understand when people say that's he's becoming hipster now, Louis always had this weird side to him. Anyone see that artsy black & white film he put out on his website? He started working /filming that before he ever went on O&A. He was married to an artsy painter/creative type even.
I think there are some people here who first became familiar with Louis CK through O&A so they have this expectation of how he's supposed to be as a comedian.
I haven't watched it. But there are different type of comedy fans. Some people watch south park for the satire, some watch to see Kenny die. Some people like louie cause he says cunt and nigger, some people actually get the jokes.
I haven't seen it yet, but the guy has accomplished pretty much everything he can in comedy. Pretty understandable to try and diversify, especially when he's always maintained that he wants to be a filmmaker first and a comedian second.
Too smart is like Lost, Breaking bad etc, shows with slow pacing and foreshadowing. This was a complete shitshow with hit you on top of the head messages about this and that. Just boring. On that note Steve Buscemi is probobly best living actor in the world, jesus christ I totally forgot his character on Boardwalk Empire when watching this, just a complete transformation
all his newer works are dominated by pretentious neo-allenist ornament that suffocates story and comedy. if you appreciate this art-form you are a reactionary. this is baroque, not modern at all.

I thought it was ok...although I'd watch Buscemi doing sudoku.

I liked the bit where Hawkeye said nigger.

A Buscemi autographed Sudoku might be worth a little bit someday. It probably wouldn't even be google completed.

It's like a stage play, if you look at it like that instead of expecting a comedic thing, it's pretty good.

What does "being pretentious" in regards to comedy mean? It was too smart? This is a legitimate question, I haven't watched the show at all

I liked it, it was like a stage play. It wasn't supposed to be Seinfeld.

never in the history of internet has such an intellectual chasm existed between one's screen name & ensuing comment

is neo-allenist your words or did see it somewhere, either way its 100% accurate. self indulgent garbage. abstraction for sake of abstraction.
