thats cool but you cant restart it from the beginning?

People will wait to see what everyone else thinks before piling praise on this turd. Don't want to be the first one...just in case.

It was pretty terrible. Like PeckaSucka said it was straight out of a college freshman screenplay or something I'm paraphrasing. Vury bad, the final scene picked up a bit but it took them a whole show of unbearable conversations that are all supposed to symbolize different types of people in America interacting, Louis is dropping off

I haven't seen it. Where do you think he's going wrong? He strikes me as a guy who's happy to fuck with the form of things as an experiment for himself. Is this his problem? Has he the auteur's curse of self importance?

Of all the comics of the last 2 decades who could have jumped into quality programming Louis should've been the one no?

He's so smart sometimes and no one would question that he's a film buff as well as a tech guy who seems to really know the equipment he uses as well as film grammar, direction, photography and editing.

Why does he suck when he really shouldn't?

I thought the last 'special' he put out on his website was effortless, mumbly, really hardly had any jokes it was like a drunken version of someone trying to pretend to be Louis CK. Plus there were so many problems with this, it was just really lazy. The writing isn't that good a few times the actors mess lines up and he leaves it in because it's all 1 take. It seemed sloppy and kinda cringey, the conversations seemed unnatural. As far as filmography a couple times the angles are totally off and it breaks the rule of 2/3rd several times, it looks amateur, the final set in his bedroom and the scene is so corny. You gotta see it it was like a really bad Louis spinoff or something similar. I love Louis CK but I fear that he's done putting the kind of effort into things that he did to get famous. Nothing he's done has been nearly as prepared or tight or content filled as Chewed Up or his one before that. Hilarious was SO LONG too, it was just way too long for a comedy special for me, I got bored. I get that he's pretty successful and wants to do some fun stuff as a fan I just would like to see him still with the old fire in the belly again

I was reading elsewhere that with this it's not meant to be a comedy, that's not the point. It's some kind of anti-comedy which would be in keeping with Louis doing his own thing. I do sometimes have to remind myself that he's not doing all this just for me and that I don't necessarily have to ' get ' what it is he's aiming for.

When all is said and done I still think that he was at his absolute best and most dominant on O&A. Yes I'm biased but for me he never, ever, even came close to failing there. He owned from the moment he arrived, all through Opie's utter stupidity, right until the show cut out. You could here the respect from everybody in the room and he was so succinct in his points on politics and the American way. Granted quite a bit was material that would find it's way into his standup but that didn't in any way diminish its impact.

I agree with you. Yeah this clearly was not meant to be funny that was definitely clear, some parts were alright but if you see it lemme know what you think, i just posted a link above. Yeah he was always killer on O&A and a lot of other places

...........peckahs?

🤔

I hope it's got a few 60 seconds shots of food in a grocery store...they're always funny.
