She stole the material, of course she knew it would come crashing down.
She stole the material, AND any goodwill she'd built up from the "pre soulless cunt" phase of her career went out the window when she retconned every funny joke she ever told as a "Republican Rich Girl Character".
Didn't we start hating her like 4-5 months before the stolen material even became a thing? She's talking about the natural build-up/backlash cycle of American celebrities, and she was right.
I actually feel bad for Amy. She hasn't been in comedy long and had the spotlight pointed at her. She doesn't deserve her success but she was given it. And she took it as anyone would. She was chosen because she's just unattractive enough to be the face of feminism, yet just attractive enough for girls hotter than her to watch and relate to her and just funny enough to make the audience giggle. Her career has been concocted by people with dollar bills in their eyes and she has been corralled down the lucrative "gurl power", "body positive" route. A couple of more years without success and she could've become jaded and more cynical and gone the bitter North Eastern comic road. Bill Burr and Louis CK went this way and they're about as successful as her now. The difference is she's a woman and the female audience only has an interest in female performers if they conjure connotations of youth. Why else was Sarah Silverman a star ten years ago and now a flop despite improving as a stand up? Dave Attell wouldn't be as great as he is now if he had a successful sitcom at age 30. Colin Quinn was doing Remote Control and In Living Color at Amy's age. He was terrible back then. He's amazing now though. After his years of obscurity that is. Perhaps one day she could've been great too but she's worth like 60 mill now and money's the motivator. As I said earlier, she doesn't deserve her success though. And it deserves to be sullied.
She doesn't deserve her success but she didn't ask for it
What do you mean she didn't ask for it? Do you think the Jews just grabbed her from a comedy stage and threw her on TV? Or is that exactly what she was working towards?
I think she did well at the Patrice roast due to help from her writers and then was probably noticed by some comedy central exec. She probably was invited to a pitch meeting and just said "The Chappelle Show but I'm Chappelle" and some marketing person probably pointed out the demographics she appeals to and they supported it. Judd Apatows former underling, Lena Dunham, was a flop so he went with Amy, another "funny woman to shut up misogynists". Someone said to her "Write a rom com with krass sex stuff and he'll direct" and boom trainwreck was made.

I'd be clairvoyant too if I did what she did and was waiting for someone to catch me.

There are cycles, but I didn't give a shit about her until she elbowed a kid fan for no reason

I'm not saying she doesn't deserve her backlash. It was just coming one way or another.

"really arbitrary and a misunderstanding."
This built-in explanation that she could never possibly do wrong.

You're right. I was trying to say her success was random. I'll edit it.

I feel like Judd's into some really kinky shit. I bet he gets pegged by Lena at the very least.
