Question about the whole Amy thing
2 2016-01-26 by bizzlbone
I wanna start off by saying I fucking hate Amy Schumer and think she's an unfunny hack. However, as far as the bits on her show being stolen from other comics, wouldn't the writers be to blame for that? Which reminds me, Kurt has been awfully silent during this whole fiasco...
I also I don't give a fuck if this has been asked before, I'm not on here everyday and the question just popped into my head today

Amy has the final say. Someone posted in the videos sub about how Roseanne used to routinely fire her writers if they would bring ideas for her sitcom that were stolen or too closely related to other shit that has been done on other shows or taken from other comics because at the end of the day it's her name on the product and she has to answer for it. Amy is in charge of quality control for her show.

it also doesn't account for the stolen stand up

Amy has creative control over her show and her stand up.
She is probably part of the joke writing process and is definitely there during the table reads.
While I doubt she has that much control over movies, she probably has some input and influence there as well.
So...let the pig roast continue.

But don't the writers come up with the ideas in the first place and write them out, and then she just okays them? I don't really know how that shit works but the writers must have some level of involvement in coming up with concepts and shit

In a normal sitcom with non-comedian stars (say, 2 Broke Girls), comedy writers are hired and they control the material/scripts.
The cast is allowed to tweak the script at a table read. Table reads happen once the first draft is completed. The tweaks are generally for grammar or flow. Not content.
In a sitcom with a comedian star (say, Seinfeld or Everybody Loves Raymond), the comedian will be at the writing sessions working on ideas for content. Even though he isn't credited as a writer, he will have creative influence over the material.
Here is a cool article about how Seinfeld was written

That's a really good article, I honestly thought Jerry & Larry just came up with everything

It's a good point, Kurt is a shifty fellow, so either Amy is a blatant thief, or she writes literally none of her own content. Either way she comes out an Untalented pig of a woman in this.

Kurt is like a fat bloated boar on a beach. We can burst that gut with a well placed spear. Put some Abraham on it and he'll be loosed like a top

Schumer and Kuck Metzger have both talked about someone on writing staff named Jessie, I wouldnt be surprised if she was one of the most prolific writers because she was stealing everything.

Jessi Klein, I'm assuming: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1585728/?ref_=ttfc_fc_wr9

And a connection to the Kroll Show, which is a connection to Tig Notaro's cancer scam if you go down the rabbit hole.

What is "Tig Notaro's cancer scam"?
2 TheDarkFezRises 2016-01-26
It's a whole thing on its own. There's a school of thought that she faked having cancer to further her comedy career. When you see who she's tied up with it's not really far fetched. Kroll bought his career through his billionaire father.

Is it Jesse Joyce? I know he writes for a lot of comics, he used to write for Giraldo
0 TheDarkFezRises 2016-01-26
No, it's a female. Kuck talked about her being pregnant.
