I'm not one for conspiracies, but I think it's entirely possible that the Reddit admins commented to the mods of this place that they should be more strict with the "witch hunt and brigading" stuff (specially with the enormous impact this place has had over the last couple of weeks) if we wanted to avoid the same fate as /r/fatpeoplehate (oh, Erock!) and other places of that ilk.

If this is the case, and knowing what kind of animals we are, I don't think this is much more than a slap on the wrist. Let's just be careful about how we approach things and all will be fine is what I'm saying.

Let's just be careful about how we approach things

that's the point, why should we dance around reddit's rules? we should at least have a place where we can plan out the downfall of our enemies without being pestered by mods and admins

Don't get me wrong, I agree with your position. But it is what it is, if we try to start from scratch somewhere else, it won't be nearly as big as this place is and consequently a lot of the fun will be lost.

Say we go with the IRC example, one of those channels is not permanent or timezone flexible like this place is. Nearly any other means of communication between us fans loses a lot of the things that make this one special and appealing.

So I'm just advocating for preserving the good thing we have right now, even if it means doing a little bit of extra work. I don't think that's unreasonable.
