Ron was actually great about what he did. He was serious/told Ant what he needed to hear, but he always kept in mind that there is an audience watching so he threw some jokes in and even pivoted to other topics that Ant would like talking about (as if he was the host of the show) so that Anthony wouldn't feel bombarded. I love when Ron is on Ant's show. Ron isn't a pussy who has to suck up to Ant but he is a friend so he also doesn't just trash the guy (like a lot of people would like to) and leave him hanging.
I never really listened to Ron and Fez and I regret it because over the last couple of years I've really started to appreciate Ron. He is a really bright guy and he is hilarious.
It's not too late. Bennington isn't what Ron and Fez what at it's heyday or even during the Advice Show era, but Ron is always great. The show can be boring, but just listening to Ron work...he's a fucking genius. And the fact that there's still arguments over whether Fez's gayness, anxiety and even presence in the studio was a work or shoot. Hell, months after Fez retired people were swearing they could hear him occasionally in the background and that he wasn't in Florida, but doing an off air role.
Basically that Anthony leads a lonely life based on instant gratification which is why he's so miserable. Anthony countered with he has beavis and Ronnie shut it down and implied he acts like a child. Racial stuff, young girls, social media, blaming others, being a pissy eyed fag, and alcoholism were mentioned as well.
