The last season of Louie sucked and he won't make another one until he has enough good ideas. He's also exhausted from working on "Baskets," which he co-wrote and produced.
You should be happy he isn't just phoning it in and collecting a paycheck.
I'm pretty sure he knows it sucked. Back when he was promoting season 4 and O&A did their annual ball washing he already said people might think it wasn't going to be as good. Which is just saying it isn't that good.
So sick of so much gay Superhero shit. And fuck Noah Hawley. Second season of Fargo was great until the big reveal that the whole season was a waste and they didn't think it through completely.
I mean that I thought the second to last episode was great and if that was the lead in to the finale it was going to be the greatest season of TV ever...turned out most of what seemed like the most interesting storylines went absolutely nowhere.
That fucking sucks, but I'd rather have him pull out and upset the fanboy idiots than run it into the ground just so he can pump cash out of it. A lot of shows would go out on a much better note if people could just know when to quit.
In my opinion the show should have ended after season 4. It felt like the loose story arc about Louie and Pamela was finally resolved and it was unnecessary for the show to continue.
Also, season 4 had that fantastic 2part episode about Louie's childhood and drug use. Topping that is nearly impossible.
I know a lot of people didn't like the last season but I thought it was the funniest one I'd ever seen. I really fell back in love with that show, bummer that it might be over.
Im still trying to figure out why they cast him in Trumbo though. He just did not seem right for that part, and it was kind of a nothing part to begin with. Stunt casting, I suppose. Or maybe just the director was a big fan.
If he's writing, directing, editing and producing the series, it's a little more acceptable to pull shit like that than if you're an actor in a sitcom holding up a series that is bigger than yourself.
This. It has to be absolutely draining on him. On top of all the stuff you mentioned he writes another half hour or so of standup material for the show on top of the hour a year he churns out already.
And why does everyone on this sub think that people in positions like Burr, Louis, etc. owe people things. Id say if Louis includes you on his show its a gift basically.
Why does he have to keep writing episodes of he doesn't want to? He takes the show way too seriously but if he wants to take time off he can just like if the network didn't want him back they could say no.

He said that about the last 2 seasons and they've been the worst.

What do you mean by this?

Fair enough, thought you were saying that they had actually said they didn't think it through.

Probably for the best. He would have ended up going further and further down that French New Wave cinema rabbit hole.

This is what CYE does and it's fine, calm your menopausal hysteria with some zumba classes.

God I'm glad Louie is getting cancelled. I'm just sick of pretending that I've seen a single episode.

Louis CK has come off as an insufferable asshole in his dealings with the show and network.
This isn't the first time he pulled this nonsense - he walked away from the show after 3 seasons to "take a breather."
The show was at its height of popularity and he simply told the network that he didn't feel like doing the show for a few years.
He left countless people in the lurch and placed the show on hiatus for an indefinite period of time.
Now, he's doing it again. He takes himself and that show way too seriously. He's an over indulged hipster magnet that believes his own good press.
Enough with him and "Louie."

This is all very true. However, I will always respect a man who masturbates in front of women in a hotel room without their consent.

This is not a valid opinion to hold.

If he feels that way, then he should have the decency to tell the network he no longer wants to do the show.
Let the network, cast and crew move on with their lives.

His show is minimally produced, by design. Who is on many episodes other than him and the little Girls? Not even Bob Kelly....
6 Aemon12 2016-01-16
Why the fuck are you in a lurch if his show is on hiatus? Get a life.
