I know where it comes from, I mean that we repeat it as a common saying or running joke. For him to drudge that up a month or two later without any explanation to anyone makes me think he sees it as that as well because I don't think he would be able to recognize and highlight a saying like that on his own especially since it sort of makes fun of him.
