If the show had really split and remained on the same channel like Opie claimed he wanted to happen...

How do you think it would have gone down? I'm 100% certain Jim would rather do a show with Ant than Opie, and all the comics would probably just do that show...Opies show would be what it is now minus Jim and without comics....

How much do you think it would drive him crazy to receive the negative reception he surely would had this happened while fans would love the other show, and realizing he COULDN'T do radio by himself like he claims?

I think you're over(under? mis?) estimating Jim. In a split show Jim would 'protect' Opie out of loyalty either by doing his show regularly or making sure comics were there. I also dont see Ant running a show and having it not become some version of what he's done on TACS. Left on their own everyone goes to their area; Opie talks dad shit and viral videos and reality TV, Ant does race, guns and seinfeld, Jim tries to stick anything that moves or if he's around other comics they all smash eachother. The whole was more than the sum of its' parts, not the other way around. The group dynamic didn't throttle any of the individuals, their individual failings are not circumstantial.

I'm guessing it would be Ant and Jim in the morning, than Opie in afternoons (maybe Jim would do both)? I remember there was a big divide a few years ago when Opie kind of wanted to do afternoons and Ant was furious at the very idea. Kind of ironic that Ant switched to afternoons after all.

I've said this before, but they should still do it.

Put Opie in the morning with the Stangels or some shit comic to discuss the Kardashians for 2 hours.. That way, everyone can skip it.

Then have Sam and Jim do a 2 hour show after it. Jim has better chemistry with Sam and he actually acknowledges his characters. This can lead into a simulcast with Bennington and they're all set.

Then, every second or third week, have a 4 hour supershow with everyone. It's new, different and fresh... which means it won't happen.
