What do you guys listen to?
4 2016-01-12 by outtogetcha
Just out of curiosity. What do you guys listen to? Because I still listen to the show. But only because of Jim. Any day he's out (especially if Sherrod Small is in), I tap out after 5 seconds.
TACS never did it for me. I was a huge fan of pre-fired Anthony, but he can't carry his own show. It's always been total dogshit.
But what else is there? Stern? I can't do Stern. 100% due to that black hole chiming in and bothering everybody. Fuck that cunt. I hate her 10 x times more than I hate Ian Halperin. And I really fucking despise that guy.
I tried The Bonfire and it was alright, but it's not a daily thing.
I normally end up with a Youtube playlist of old O&A bits.
UPDATE: Thanks a lot for all the suggestions. Gonna check out all of them!

Bonfire and How Did This Get Made are about it.

How did this get made is great when you've seen the movie but kinda pointless is you haven't, so the episodes are kinda limited.

Fair point. Watch more bad movies, I guess.

Bennington is pretty good

I'm with you on O&J (and the reasons) and TACS. Old Stern is good but not as good as old O&A.
I'd definitely recommend giving the Bonfire another chance - it's very good most shows.

Sounds... tssssss

Mostly Patrice episodes, some Bennington. Mainly i'm listening to a movie podcast thing called Double Toasted.. very off the cuff and you can tell they're inspired by Patrice and O&A.. that show just puts me in a good mood. If you liked the sillier side of O&A/Patrice and you're a movie nerd then check it out.

I don't listen to any "comedy" podcasts anymore. None of them are that engaging. I can't even be bothered to download Ant's free best-of. It's not entertaining enough.
Hardcore History (repeatedly) Rogan if the guest is interesting. History on Fire. Several true crime ones. Some music ones. Jay Mohr if the guest is interesting. A few paranormal ones.

The ricky gervais show, the XFM version not the hbo series. Also ive been listening to the Its Always Sunny episode commentaries on youtube, theyre pretty good if you like that show and are at all interested in the behind the scenes stuff

I listen to the Sick farken Puppies, exclusively.

Opie and Anthony, Opie and Jim, an occasional Stern clip or Howard TV rerun episode, TACS, occasionally Bennington LOS Gavin and The Bonfire. I don't mind Rogan if I'm in a car driving or something but I find it boring as fuck especially lately, if the guest is bad. As soon as I put it on the background I zone out of it. I like Getting Doug with High to see if the show is an awkward train wreck or rarely it will have a good episode. Sometimes Hardcore History with Dan Carlin, sometimes YKWD, used to like Bill Burr MMPC but don't check into it anymore. I really wish there was a show similar to O&A with a similar fanbase that was actually still a decently good show and had a good fanbase, but all the shows with comparable sizes have corny people following it

I've been listening to a lot of old Ron and Fez clips recently. Anything with Black Earl and East Side Dave is gold.
3 cakehornnigga 2016-01-12
"Earl doesn't wanna work" on YouTube is fucking great. Ronnie B is the fucking hit king
2 ChurchOfBaldOpie 2016-01-12
Same here. Hitting up Ron & Fez playlists because I haven't listened to the show much pre-OnA blowup. Doesn't quite hit the spot, but it has it's moments at times. Tried LOS. Tried The Bonfire. Still looking for something with dark /beatdown humor consistently.

You ever listen to High Society? It's pretty upbeat but they all have twisted senses of humor and trash each other pretty often - though they never brutalize each other the way Vos and Bobby shows sometimes went.
It's Pepper from R&F/Bennington and his two friends. All degenerates.

Something about podcasts that lack the edge radio has. Not even live stuff listening to old O&A clips have it too. Maybe its because its the rule book being blown away makes podcasts like a kid rebelling against really great and cool parents? I dunno but there is something.
I've literally had to look across the atlantic to find a radio show that was good enough for me so it'll take a long time to find another one to even dethrone the husky crappy shell that is O&J
2 DickAction 2016-01-12
I listen to O&J out of habit and in the hopes that it will have it's moments of entertainment (never subscribed to satellite though). I've only seen the few free TACS episodes and listened to a few Weekly best of. None of it inspired me to shell out any loot for a sub.
The Doug Stanhope free podcast is actually pretty funny.
3 mattirawks 2016-01-12
Last week with Bobby and Soder was a reminder of why it's still worth listening too.
2 outtogetcha 2016-01-12
Agreed.
3 sanfrancisco69er 2016-01-12
Stanhope is my favorite comic of all time, but for some reason I can't get through 5 minutes of his podcast. I don't even think its bad, just for some reason I can't pay attention.
2 barrruuuch 2016-01-12
I'll do Imus sometimes

Covino and Rich....love the dudebros
3 cakehornnigga 2016-01-12
I have an unreasonable hatred for those guys. I don't appreciate their dudebro humor
2 Nulltor 2016-01-12
Old r&f, old o&a, bonfire.
2 SpaceCaseBassFace 2016-01-12
Bonfire, race wars (only when good guests are in), legion of skanks, gavins show, Joe rogan experience (depending on guests, the pot talk episodes are boring as fuck), ari shaffirs skeptic tank, Monday morning podcast, stanhope shot clog podcast.
2 charliemccarthy 2016-01-12
Old O&A and early 90s Stern on Youtube. Also Serial, How did this get made, Risk, Stuff You should Know.

I listen to audiobooks during my hour long commute. Audible.com is $15 a month for one book. A deep book is 20+ hours.

Punch Drunk Sports w/ Sam Tripoli, Jayson Thibault and Ari Shaffir

Bennington, The Bonfire.

I like Rogan, though I have no problem making fun of him. (That's O-N-N-I-T ) LoS , Nick DiPaolo amuses the fuck out of me, because he makes Hannity look liberal.
I also like Dan Carlin, and History on fire, if you can put up with the Italian accent.
Wow, Podcasts take up most of my listening time at work, or driving and whatnot.
Radio is fucking dead, so is sub model internet shows.
Someone tell the people this fucking sub is named after.
5 MrKrinkel 2016-01-12
Dan Carlin is great. Hardcore history is one of the best podcasts out there
1 Anarox 2016-01-12
Los, Bonfire, old shows. Bonfire is getting tiredsome, Los has it ups and down
1 VladDogbreath 2016-01-12

I was all in with My Wife Hate Me for a couple years but their shtick got to be too much. Shame because I'd face fuck Bonnie and trade tatt stories with Vos.

You can listen to this soccer mom bullshit, but can't do Howard? ...OK.
Penn Jillette has a decent enough podcast, Adam Corolla is hit or miss, I personally don't like the Joe Rogan experience, but a lot of people here do.
2 PhilipMarma 2016-01-12
I agree about Corolla being hit or miss, but I recommend his new show with Mark Garagos, the criminal lawyer, called Reasonable Doubt.
1 puchmopeds 2016-01-12
I only discovered o and a a couple years ago and instead of starting to listen to live shows I downloaded all their old shows from 2004 on. I listen everyday and in order until i catch up to current day. I'm currently at April 2010.
1 DanielRigg 2016-01-12
I've gotten into podcasts a lot more in the last couple years so O&A and O&J have dropped down to the bottom of my list of shows I listen to. If they have a good guest on and Sherrod isn't in studio then I'll always listen at some point.
I like to listen to Bill Burr's Monday Morning Podcast, Kevin Pollak Chat Show, Nerdist Podcast, Joe Rogan Experience, How Did This Get Made? and I just started listening to Mohr Stories as well.
