If his comedy depended on his morality you have been blind all along. He was always a piece of shit, but funny. That is why people stuck around. Now, well not so much. I don't even care about the whole Dani situation except maybe speculating on it, but it didn't shift my opinion one inch. He just became to bitter and that took the funny out of him.
