Speculate Legion of Skanks

23  2016-01-08 by braunheiser

LOS was not mentioned by Anthony today as he was slowly speaking about the network and how he appreciates people like Gavin and Pat, that they appreciate having this place to come and talk and say what they want.

LOS was making a lot of jokes and straight up said they are trying to distance themselves from Anthony, and want the site name changed. Supposedly they were also on periscope making even more jokes like "All the hits" etc. or thats what I read here on reddit.

Today Zac Amico also said that it could be the last time he's even on the show so he has to get it all out now. That might have been unrelated or maybe it goes along with some tension behind the scenes with Skanks coming straight out and saying all that about Anthony.

One thing that comes to mind is that Anthony has been blocking people on Twitter for saying similar things that Zac had made a joke about. For them to be making jokes and also saying that the site should be changed, I can't imagine Anthony loves that. Perhaps the network will have one less show next contract negotiations?

In my opinion LOS aren't signing with the network again once the contract is up and Ant is aware of it.

Do you know when the contract is up? I don't know

Believe they signed for a year, so you'd have to go on the website and see when they started doin shows with Ant.

June

Ah, yea I don't think they're coming back they've been pretty open about how it's not like its crazy money or getting them great guests. They've said how the studio kills the whole vibe of the podcast and they don't like it. It'd probably be smart for them to leave, now that they got some of the OnA hanger ons they can leave, make 2 shows a week for free and get sponsers that probably pay them more than Ant does.

Yeah the studio doesn't fit their vibe, they should stick to creek and cave or even Ant's basement.

IMO the studio shows are usually better.

Yeah, I love how they tear down the stupid green screen curtains for their show. Like they're saying "fuck this ugly fake bullshit".

lol do they really do contracts? I figured it was just random under the table shit

This. Luis started getting serious with the real ass podcast when he lost faith in los staying together. Recently he created gasdigital, and moved his and daves show there.

Big jay has outgrown the show and probably doesnt want to be seen rating which retards he would fuck on the human garbage network anymore when his career is ready to pop.

They also have the GAS network with SDR & RAP & PotP. Id prob pay a few scheckles every year to be a part of it. But most likely it will be free with ads. They're growing too big For TACS.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

I think Big Jay will be on to bigger and better with Soder. Dave will try to get on Fox News as much as possible, but after the election he will fade away. Luis will burn too many bridges and remain a club comic. He will impregnate another confused white girl and never make it out on the road.

ME: I wish them the best.

I had this same thought run through my head when I saw that. If he had just mentioned Gavin, it might have gone unnoticed, but mentioning Pat Dixon and not Jay, Dave and Luis seemed a little strange.

Hope that's not the case. LOS is my favorite thing on the network.

but wasn't Zac Amico on Ant's show the day after he made that joke on LOS? I don't know what Ant thinks about LOS. It is bizarre that he would mention the other shows, and not LOS. To be honest I question how long LOS can go on. I'm a fan, but something about watching it now.........it feels like it's ran it's course. Big Jay should really be famous at this point. He has the Bonfire, and if his comedy central special hits I wonder if it will be worth it to do LOS twice a week.

Los always has the choice to go back to a shitty set up & not get paid. Besides, I don't remember Sirius or any other major podcasts in a bidding war to land los. I understand some bigger people distancing themselves right now, but the Los needs a reality check if they think they're big enough that the national news is going to do a story on how the unknown, one in a million podcast for of middle card comics chose to stay with Anthony.

Maybe ol Vinny Brand carries more weight in the industry than we're aware of. If it hurts them getting gigs you bet they're out. First Anthony is banned from the Patrice benefit, and now people are speculating on what LOS will do. Something tells me Vinny is well connected/respected in the world of comedy, and he can probably make your career a living hell if he wants to.

I don't know.....it's unlikely that vinny brand can affect your career beyond not having you at his club, but from listening to O&A it sounds like Stress Factory is a club most NY comedians want to do because it's a headline gig that you don't travel far to, and it also sounds like Vinny treats the comics well. However.....I'm guessing Ant pays LOS pretty fair to just have a podcast on his network. I'm not sure what's more valuable, but if Anthony is giving them a monthly paycheck vs a twice a year gig.........comedy math, bitch!

I was surprised when I saw how small the inside of that place is for a really big comic to make real money there. But I only saw it on the dvd extras on one of Artie's stand up dvd's.

i think because comedy clubs sell tickets plus a lot of drinks and food, and they can 2 or 3 shows a night on weekends. if you have comics that can sell a lot of tix in there every single weekend, and some weekdays then it can probably be profitable. also....his rent is probably much lower than having a club in manhattan. if you have artie lange one weekend then dave attell the next then jim norton etc..etc..

Yeah but how much are they getting paid? I assume a headline gig over the weekend at the Stess Factory pays well, and it's a lot less work than a weekly podcast. Also, Vinny might know other club owners and he'll tell them to stop booking certain comics. I believed this kind of thing happened to Ron White early on in his career, before he teamed up with Foxworthy. Apparently Ron White was fucking a female club owner, and when things turned, she went to other comedy owners and got them to stop booking Ron. Vinny is well respected, and comics like him. It's not an unreasonable thought. He's got one of the top clubs in the country he can definitely cost your career money.

I don't remember where I heard this, I think when LoS were complaining about Keith locking the booze away, but I vaguely remember hearing they get $200, or maybe $400, each per episode... ?

I bet a weekend headlining spot at The Stress Factory pays atleast 5-8k.

Maybe for Jay, $1600 a month for Luis and Dave to fuck around for 4 hours a week seems like a BRILLIANT deal.

It's nice but it's not headlining money.

I'm sure the Stress Factory is gonna sell out a weekend headlined by Dave Smith

Just asking questions

With the Bonfire, the existence of LOS is completely unnecessary anyway. Smith and Gomez are terrible.

Yeah, some days I could live without the Mexican Rattlesnake or whatever the fuck he calls himself.

dude..

Too real?...

I think it's because Gavin and pat have a more serious show, LoS isn't very political or have a format like pat with his crime stories. I didn't think it was because he hates them.

if there was a real issue with the skanks I don think ant would put the fifth skank (zac) on the show today. they always make jokes about everything, ant has been making jokes about his situation himself. I agree they probably wont be here next year but that's cause they all have other gigs and are barely together for shows now.

"It's just a hang, mannnnnnnnn."

who's show is bigger btw? LOS or Gavin? I would think Los because that's what I'm more familiar with, but Gavin has all those libertarian nut fans, and young fox news fans that probably love him.

Really hard to tell, Gavin's show is 4 times a week while LOS is only 2 and 1 episode is released for free every week, while all of Gavin's shows are behind the TACS paywall. It's a good question

That one non-TACS episode is an insurance policy and an escape route for when Ant's empire implodes.

Those darn Skanks, using Ant... Just like Opie, and Jimmy, and Burr, and DeRosa, and Rogan, and.....

Holy fucking shit! Can you possibly grasp for more straws?

What right do the Legion of Skanks have to publicly bash Ant and demand changes to the format of the network? They're a fairly low profile podcast so they're lucky Ant is even paying them, they should be counting their blessings. Especially Dave Smith, that guy is just awful at what he does, whatever that is.

They're on a Network that is supposedly uncensored, open and honest. Why shouldn't they joke about it? I prefer this response to the one they gave after Ant bombed at the roast.

I know right? O&A never went on-air and complained about their bosses or the way the company worked behind the scenes. They were better than that.

yeah but the O&A show was good enough that they weren't beholden to the decisions of management. Mind you, I don't hate LoS, it's just that they don't have the same bargaining power that O&A had. LoS would be a lot better if they could somehow replace Dave Smith.

"What right do the Legion of Skanks have to publicly bash the mighty Royal Ant?" This isn't feudal England you dumb fuck. They can say what they want, they're comedians.
