reminds me of my last semester of college, my buddies and I all realized at the same time that one of our mutual friends was just an obnoxious asshole and an awful drunk, and that his drunken Mr. Hyde persona was who he really was. So we all just stopped hanging out with him, it was kinda shitty how we went about it but we were all personally happier and better off as a result. I think the same thing is going on here, and everyone is slowly realizing there's no value in staying friends with Ant and it will only hurt them.
It's just smart of them while he has a pending trial for domestic abuse. That's not someone you want making an appearance at a charity event. This is about more than just Patrice and the friends of the show, there's actual charity going on.
And if he's guilty then it serves that retired Moroccan fisherman right.
So is Ant. All Opie and Ant can do at this kind of thing is MC and wave at the end and yet they make such a big deal about it. Fucking pathetic really.

Apparently none of his comic friends stand up for Ant. Voss, Bobby, Jim, none of them. When did Burr become King of the Hill?

when he flew his helicopter over it

Better yet, when did Patrice's corpse become a political football?

he's the head of the benefit. plus, why would anyone stand up for ant when he has a pending trial?

I guess he "figured it out". Or Burr figured it out for him.

He was always going, since he was 18.

Opie is pretty much an afterthought/audience member at this event anyway. His usefulness at it is the check he will write.
As for Bill Burr...the guy is a late night regular who did comedians in cars with Seinfeld. He doesn't need this shit.
