Yeah, that's not how it works. You have a Plaintiff and a Defendant which are going to argue their side. It comes down to evidence regardless of it being he said/she said. I'm guessing the 4th is the preliminary hearing, which will hear the evidence and determine if probable cause exists to continue to trial or have it dropped. Evidence would include witnesses, medical exams, other supporting data. Witnesses do not have to be eye witnesses, although that would make a stronger case for the prosecution; they could just be character witnesses. Still the prosecution needs to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Ant committed the crimes. Some defendants may choose a trial by judge rather than jury if the lawyer thinks the law will be interpreted better if the the jury could be swayed by emotions/media attention.

Wintnesses-none. Medical exams-sure. Supporting data-means? And as for character witnesses would that be allowed? Like Opie could walk in and say he beats women and Joe could say he doesn't and that would make a difference?

You got a creepy video and a broken rib involved though...plenty of reasonable doubt but Ant may end up pleading to something to avoid dragging this out.
