Remember that episode of Louie when he called in to a hacky radio show? The onair guys were Ant, Jim, and Amy. Louis put Opie as the phone guy, surely because he knew that he was too untalented to even play a radio host.
Oh yeah, I remember that. Before that episode aired, Louie tweeted out "Thanks to Anthony Cumia, Amy Schumer and Jim Norton for being in tonight's episode." Then like a half hour later, he tweets out "Also thanks Opie"
Everyone rags on him because of his laugh and contributing little...but when Tom came in, the guys would really step up their game.
I remember on several shows where O, A, and Jim were lethargic and phoning it in for the first 2 and a half hours, then Tom Papa came in and the energy in the room did a complete 180. Jim and Ant would be riffing while Tom laughed and threw in a few lines here or there, but he never stepped on anything.
I don't even get why people don't like him. He never ruins bits and he tolerates any level of depravity to talk about. Sure he's not hilarious but he's never pissed me off once
Exactly. It always seemed like Jim enjoyed making other comics laugh, so when Tom came in Jim would be on fire. It was good radio when Tom Papa was in studio

Opie's reading is atrocious.
Nice voice shit dick. No wonder he never got TV work.

I also love Opie's "random assortment of drops that don't make any sense" bit after the first script reading. That's always really funny.

I will always give Tom Papa a pass in life, because he happened to be there (and not fuck up) during classic Regular Joe & The Goose moments. peckaz.
