Steve's breakfast, O&A "Teams", hierarchy, Patrice, knowing your role, pecking orders, it's all here an all 100% real. This is exactly what I'm talking about. Real life things taking place in real time. I'm 23 mins into this and I don't understand how there are questions about any of this.
Edit 1 - Erik critiques Steve's diet.
Edit 2 - "Vick Dumb".
Edit 3 - This is awesome. Travis FTW @ 45:15
Edit 4 - Patrice saying "how can you be fun with somebody....."
Edit 5 - Sam's Shit Stirring.
Edit 6 - Derek's board brilliance.
Edit 7 - SOOOO many movie references. Jaws shit WHILE Full Metal Jacket themes are playing.
was Sam and everyone else on Team Opie by default? Sam seemed to only attach to Opie in a career sense whereas D-Boi, you, and Travis were friends with Anthony
OPIE and SAM enable each other's hack BEHAVIOR. DANNY had some STINKERS that he wouldn't admit, but he seems to KNOW when a JOKE has run its COURSE and when to MOVE on. OPIE and SAM always try to FORCE their "JOKES" into the WRONG hole and get help from the OTHER to do it.
I'm so happy he picked this one too. The great thing about my alcoholism is memory loss so this ' episode ' stays fresh.
I ain't listening to this now but I think this is the one where Opie says " smile you son of a burger " when literally everybody else is killin it with the Jaws quotes.
I can't possibly relate to your second sentence more. Nothing better than remembering about Steve C episodes that I've already listened to a dozen times, yet still remember nothing. Navy frigate here I come.
This is one of my favorite clips. I know people didn't really like the behind-the-scenes shit but I fucking loved it. Much better than interviewing some who-gives-a-fuck MMA fighter or some shit like that.
I wish Steve C wasn't fired. I don't feel like the show was ever the same after that big creep left. Of all the bad shit that happened in the O&A universe over the years Steve C's departure and later suicide is the most depressing.
Danny at what point did Opie start packing on weight for the long winter that became his life while still criticizing the fitness of others? Also, did everyone just giggle at him for it?
Side note, the thing that Opie loves from men's health about 'do this much exercise to work off this food' is posted on facebook by literally every mom I know the week following halloween.
One funny thing opie says "it's up to us who gets fired" except for literally everyone who has ever been fired or suspended from the show except for unpaid interns.
The fact that Patrice was observant enough to notice Steve had to take bites out of the burger just to get it to fit in the tupperware is what made him a 1 of a kind.

this is my favorite O&A clip ever I think I've gone back and listened to it over 10x
Everyone treated Steve like shit compared to this and the follow up when Steve forgot Jim's birthday cake.
Was Steve really that bad I know about the Foundry stuff and the missing Mondays but what did he do to make everyone hate him to that level?
EDIT: btw are you still friends with Travis? You two always seemed like butt buddies for life

Everyone has things in their personal lives. I'll never know his and he'll never know mine.
Steve was a great prod guy. He wasn't a good EP but he was forced into the role and he owned it.
Travis is a superstar. I love Travis to death and I will give him intimate back massages until the day I die.

When Steve died Opie claimed that they were friends off air. That was a lie wasn't it?

Unfortunately, you are correct. He also attempts to plow right through the Platoon bit, if I remember correctly.

I enjoy how Opie keeps telling Steve to lighten up because they all get shit on the show. Just don't shit on Opie...

Yeah even though everyone seemed to hate him towards the end, I liked him a lot
1 DesDavis 2015-12-23
Why was he fired?
2 ThankGodForBeer 2015-12-23
The story is that the cocksuckers at SXM deemed Steve's position to be redundant and axed him.

/u/DannyFromTheShow did you ever hear any other versions of events re: Steve C's firing?

"I mean, if you're gonna use Twitter, that's the way you use it. Humiliate somebody." -- Gregg "Opie" Hughes
Look guys, he likes it!

4 CookieHaid 2015-12-23
What is with Opie and his "...vurrry good queschun." crutch?

So Opie was trying to make a viral video back in 2009?

Opie stinks
1 arbgeist 2015-12-23
I never understood why Steve bothered to work out if he was going to eat like shit anyway.
3 BoardroomBimmy 2015-12-23
Because its better than eating like shit and not working out.
1 Kneegroez 2015-12-23
The platoon movie quotes are some of the funniest bits I've heard in my life.
