How many times will this paranoid dummy mention his old caddy job?
49 2015-12-16 by [deleted]
You had ONE job outside radio you paranoid dummy. ONE job. Oh right you caddied for a couple of italian guys so that means you "worked for the mafia"? You really are a paranoid dummy, you paranoid dummy.

It's such a rich kid summer job too. It's like constantly bringing up mowing your parents lawn and doing the dishes.

I'm offended, why did you have to make it personal?
18 age_of_cage 2015-12-16
Oh we're doing this now??
11 rachel_stabs_ppl 2015-12-16
leave it alone

If you're offended why are you here? Explain that to me.
You're crazy. Wow! You're crazy.

He's OCD. Says things an even number of times (minimum twice), and HAS to tell the whole story from the beginning. If he knows it's too soon since the last time he HAD to do it, he does that dumb speed talking bullet point thing, cause it HAS to be the whole story His gay NFL teams story is another example.

It's his only other work experience

Opie wasn't rich. Try listening for something other than material with which to fuel your false outrage for opie. Cunt.
8 Evilblueyoshi 2015-12-16
Try listening to the list of things he got to do growing up and other clues other than him simply saying "we were poor", and his powdered milk story. He has listed dozens of things over the years that contradict him saying he was poor(someone made a list on here not too long ago).
If you look at my "worst" comments from being downvoted most of them are from this sub because I was defending him too. But as more time passed and he keeps exposing himself over and over on the show as a shit head. He is not the "decent guy" you think or I thought he was.
-2 Charles_Bo_Barles 2015-12-16
I've listened for a long time. I'd like to see this list. I suspect it's bullshit.
3 Evilblueyoshi 2015-12-16
Fair enough, if anyone who reads this wants to track it down. But I've listened for ~6 years and I recalled most of those things listed as being said, but I didn't think anything of it at the time.
0 Charles_Bo_Barles 2015-12-16
I've listened since 2001 when they came to philly. People have hated on opie for over 6 years.
2 meanmug247 2015-12-16
I for one am glad you're here. If you choose to stay the veil will be removed and you too will become aware of the true nature of "the opster".
1 Charles_Bo_Barles 2015-12-16
I've been listening since 2001.
1 meanmug247 2015-12-16
Have ya?
1 Charles_Bo_Barles 2015-12-16
Nice, taking something from the show that you spend time criticizing.
My point is, from a listener viewpoint I know opie, Jim and ant well. So this sub want teach me anything and also if it weren't for opie repeating the caddy stuff, all you guys that haven't been listening since 1995, wouldn't know it.
6 plasticpaddy84 2015-12-16
Didn't say he was rich, I said caddying is the type of job rich kids get in the summer yet he tells it like he used to work in a coal mine. Ya dumb assuming ass.
-1 Charles_Bo_Barles 2015-12-16
When you make incomplete statements you leave it open to assumption. Maybe think about what you write.
You obviously have never worked in a coal mine. Come on, coal mine?
3 TheFatMosque 2015-12-16
care to try to explain how Opie is good at anything? ga'head
0 Charles_Bo_Barles 2015-12-16
No I don't care to do that. Seems like a random request.
2 TheFatMosque 2015-12-16
again, you're taking comments seriously. gfy
22 RchrdJ28 2015-12-16
Soon he's going to tell everyone he once worked at a falafel restaurant and the owners might be linked to ISIS.
16 imcreggschinkell 2015-12-16
I used to caddy when I was 14. Never once have I listed it as one of my jobs
3 lickitoff 2015-12-16
It's the only other job he ever had.
-4 Charles_Bo_Barles 2015-12-16
You actually think it's on his résumé?
2 Evilblueyoshi 2015-12-16
Did he say that?
-3 Charles_Bo_Barles 2015-12-16
Well where does one list jobs? You cant count just talking on the radio since it's just a convo not any sort of official listing of a job history. Also imcreggschinkell doesn't have a radio show so the only possible common ground is a resumé. I used a little bit of reasoning. Remember that? Before this sub became a sea of hatred.
4 Evilblueyoshi 2015-12-16
He didn't say "official listing". Lots of people list jobs they had in a convo, i assumed(which is probably a MORE reasonable assumption) he meant "I've never listed being a caddy in a convo, even though I was one at 14" because it's a pointless job that involves zero growth in skill or maturity.
-2 Charles_Bo_Barles 2015-12-16
Oh come on, he talks about it when it fits in the conversation. This position is just dishonest.
6 TheFatMosque 2015-12-16
how the fuck are you taking comments seriously here? you're an unfunny douchebag sir. talking about "dishonest positions" lol
5 regis69 2015-12-16
He has literally referred to it as when he "used to work for the mafia" and refused to elaborate on it because he said he's "no rat." He also has repeatedly talked about what hard work it was and that he has a bad back from it. He absolutely tries to make having a caddy job sound like it was more than it was because it's the only job he ever had outside of radio.
-3 Charles_Bo_Barles 2015-12-16
Dude, SO What? He has to fill a lot of time, Jim, Ant, Ron, everyone repeats themselves.
9 puchmopeds 2015-12-16
Once he was talking about the cool kids back in high school, and how the cool kids had the cool summer jobs like lifeguarding..........and caddy-in
7 Rauldukex420 2015-12-16
About half as much as you hear ''ive been doing radio for 20 years''. he fails to mention he has been doing radio poorly for how ever many years and leeching off who ever he cons into doing it with him.
5 anonimescu 2015-12-16
It sounds like the sort of job that a well to do father might give to his son to instil some discipline and hopefully make some connections that would serve him later in life.
Opie said he was the youngest(or close to that) of his seven siblings. I think all his stories of hardship and misery are just shit he heard his older brothers and sister tell. If his mom was indeed a psycho then the older girls probably bore the brunt of it, as is usually the case, while his older brothers probably had to go out into the world and work instead of being privileged enough to go to college.
Opie's early life ,as he tells it, sounds like an incongrous mix of rich&poor. They lived in a big house in a rich part of Long Island, yet he claims he went to school with cement lunch bags and bought bruised apples(oy vey the horror). These are all things his siblings had to deal with ,not him.
5 BoardroomBimmy 2015-12-16
Opie was white trash. That's all. His family had decent money, but they were trashy. They were the people in the nice, white, suburban neighborhood whom you were embarrassed to live near, because they have a dozen idiot children running around, the mom is an obnoxious, loud mouth wacko and the dad is a fucking bum. Just generic white trash with way too many kids. Nothing more.
1 cztnnq 2015-12-16
What does that have to do with being poor? Apples cost the same regardless...
3 truthie 2015-12-16
He lied during a Louis CK episode once about being a bartender for a few years so he could repeat what Ant had just said about how glasses are washed.
3 MartyAtThePoonTower 2015-12-16
The thing that frustrates me the most about the O and J show is that the following questions are never answered:
What was Opie's high school job?
What is Sherrod's race?
Why all the mystery fellas?
2 regis69 2015-12-16
That's probably also the reason he has made up so many lies about money-making schemes he had growing up, such as selling candy, running numbers, and selling term papers in his frat. He grew up in Centerport, Long Island, which is a very rich place, in a house so big that even with his large family they had room to have other kids moving in with them all the time. He doesn't want to admit that his only job was working at a country club, so he refers to it as "working for the mafia" and invents all these stupid stories about pulling scams. Maybe he didn't have as much growing up as some of his incredibly rich friends, but when he's telling Sherrod or Patrice that he grew up "ghetto" and "extremely poor" it's just fucking embarrassing.

She caddied. Period.
1 Dannyprecise 2015-12-16
I'm gonna guess 12
1 chrispugz 2015-12-16
I made for a good experiences though. He could compare Kurt russell seeing hundreds of women fawning over elvis to his experience with Joe Namath on the golf course
1 AiCPearlJam 2015-12-16
I wish the rare Long Island crocodile would have gotten him in a death when he went to retrieve a water ball.
