It's a fine line everyone draws, either jimmy needed to stay on with opie for financial reasons and that WAS the smart thing to do, or the other popular opinion is that he should have showed loyalty with ant and walked. Even people who feel jimmy is a traitor for staying have to admit that a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush, but After the o&j fight and Jimmy kinda sounding depressed about the hate he was receiving, do you think if he could get in a DeLorean he would go back and walk after ants firing?
*where I stand : I'm trying to catch up on all their old shows. I downloaded their entire catalog ( which I celebrate ) from 2004 to current and listen to those shows in order until I catch up to present day. I've only made it to early 2010 so far but ever since siriusxm merged, jimmy complains weekly about how siriusxm is fucking him over and smiling in his face. This is the reason I believe jimmy is hypocritical, however I do understand why he decided to stay after ants firing.
I think if he could take it back he would. I don't think anyone saw this level of hatred coming to o&j. I do love it though. I think the comments and people on this board are insanely funny and talented, and reddit has recently become a place in visit multiple times a day to read what you people have to say. Thanks for reading ( if you did ) and commenting ( if you do )

I think when the dust settles and Jimmy is in the twilight of his years he will admit regretting not leaving with Anthony. It would have made him a legend

Nah, Jimmy would have felt guilty.
You have to realize, all the frustration Jim has with Opie, now, he didn't have when Ant got fired.
If he doesn't come back then no one can say he betrayed Opie. He gave it his best shot but ultimately Opie wanted to somehow have the Tranny Dick Piss Joke comedian on and still turn the show towards "The View".
He wanted to keep his old audience who like mean shit while making the show nicer and more PC for listeners who aren't deranged, bloodthirsty animals.
I'll never understand what Opie's vision for the "new direction" was, but, as someone who tries to play the Devil's Advocate alot (YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MY WIGGG) I can't find anything to be sympathetic to Opie about.

I would hope for his own happiness he will join anthony. Keep in mind I have not regularly listened to any live shows, think of me stuck in 2010 right now. One thing that has always been obvious is that jimmy really does love anthony. He admires anthony and finds him to be one of the funniest people he knows. Jimmy would be very happy working with anthony.

Sirius acts just like you'd expect a huge company to act. They looked at Howard as the anchor of the entire company and everyone else was filler.
Sam and the other guys that were working with the OnA show all complained as Sirius cut guys from the staff and gave the workload to the few guys left on staff. I remember when Erock agreed to take on a position with more responsibility and work. It sounded like a promotion because of the snazzy new title but they didn't give him a pay raise. Erock took a beating on the show for it.
What could those guys do though? They could go in and ask for more money but they had no leverage. Threatening to leave meant nothing because Sirius would hold the door open for you as you left.

In Jimmy's defense, Ant isn't the most reliable person so he had no idea if Ant's show would even happen. Jim loves getting pics with celebs, so he may just stick it out with Opie and be miserable. I think he made the right choice last year, but he should move on, now.

I think the smartest thing to do, would be for him to of walked. Him walking then would of been the smartest career choice, and it would of been about showing solidarity with anthony and Opie wouldn't of taken it personally, or at least AS personally. When he walks now (because he will) Opie WILL take it personally.

he didnt have to go with either of them, but he chose to chase after that paycheck. the only problem is that hes still playing brutally honest norton and cares about what annoymus faggots tweet to him. i think getting a 30% pay raise for less hour and effort is as good as it gets

It makes sense to stay where the money is. Providing TACS network continues to expand Jimmy will head over there if the salary can somewhat match what he is or was making at SXM.
