Any predictions on what Opie's gonna do about the Patrice benefit?
11 2015-12-08 by FishstickJones
There's no way Opie can get around this without coming off like a bitch. He either shows up, then somehow avoids Ant and leaves early. (Bitch move) Or, he just doesn't go at all. (SUPER bitch move) Predictions? Excuses?

He wouldn't even pay a $500 ransom for Bams kids.

He was probably hoping Burr would go to bat for him, and uninvited Anyhony, knowing that Ant and Burr had problems in the past. He probably thought by threatening not to go, Burr would do that.

Did Anthony and Burr really have problems? Maybe in the heat of the moment of some of those race arguments but I'm sure afterwards they were like "so are we still hanging out at so-and-so this weekend?". Christ, Anthony said last week he talked to DeRosa for an hour on the phone and it wasn't long before they were laughing their asses off.

There was no issue between burr and anthony. People here got all frothed up because bill didn't come to anthony's defense after he got fired. Specifically, Burr did not "#StandWithAnt". They hadn't talked since he got fired and ant wasn't "invited" to the patrice benefit last year. Everyone pointed out that there are no "invites", people just go if they want to go.
tl;dr - No drama. Fans on twitter were being dumb shits. Anthony was awkward and thought it meant something. It didn't. They talked recently and things are fine.

Burr was dating a nig when Ant blew up on twitter.

That's awful dude. Don't be ignorant like that.
He wasn't dating her, they were married.

He has to go. No way fuckin known he will pull out of this. Jim and Burr and Von will look after him, make everything safe.

He'll catch a curious case of "trout flu" and not be able to attend, but he'll send his best to all the comedians

He'll go but probably demand a 5k appearance fee...

I don't understand why anyone would go. Exactly why are they giving money to these freeloaders and who, other than possibly Patrice's mom, gave him support, financial or otherwise during his life/career?
2 Dannyprecise 2015-12-08
They go because "benefits" is a Hollywood thing to do but since these Y-Listers don't get invited to benefits, this is their night to feel celebrity.

von needs a new whatever

He won't go to prove his point. All the attention from Burr, Von, Jimmy, etc. begging him to reconsider. He will then hold it over their heads for all he has done for Patrice's family, the benefit, everyone involved. He will assure through his bitchy Greggshells that Ant is never invited again or Greggy has new names to add to the enemies list. Its classic emotional manipulation since people won't stop supporting Ant, there is no fence only sides to choose. You have to be there for Greggy!

He'll go in torn jeans. He'll shake the hands of people close by and slap their shoulder. People further away he'll point at them, with his hand like a gun, and then move his thumb like a trigger while winking and making a clicking sound. You heard it here first!

He'll say he made a very nice donation to the family (which he won't), and say he decided not to go since he'd be a distraction.

Leave it alone.
3 EYE8OPIE 2015-12-08
His good friend Andrew the homeless guy will go in Opie's place for him
2 Tremendousdread 2015-12-08
He said on the show he won't go. As long as Ant is going he " won't be in the same room"
So unless he can get separated he will try to find an excuse. I would imagine
2 destinypallooker 2015-12-08
He'll sit it out. I don't think he has the skills to navigate the situation.
2 IggysGlove 2015-12-08
He is going to claim he has to do some family shit with his wife in Philly and will be out of town that weekend.
You heard it here first folks.
3 HBK27 2015-12-08
The benefit is on a Tuesday night.
2 JoePuffy 2015-12-08
He wont go. Simple.
2 chippersonlyle 2015-12-08
Not go.
2 HoagieBoi 2015-12-08
ME: I had some family shit to do in Philly. But I gave Von a nice envelope, to be perfectly honest with ya. SNIFF

Burr called Anthony. Anthony wouldn't call back because he was scared. Not sure thats a problem on Burr's part.
As for the benefit Opie will buy a ticket and be in with da people maaaaaaaaaaan and avoid going backstage
5 GleepGlorpFloopdedoo 2015-12-08
Well, to be fair, Anthony called Burr recently and they worked it out. Yes, over a year late but he still did it. Can't picture Opie picking up the phone and calling Anthony.
