His gift of being in a room with Anthony Cumia, Jim Norton, a producer with a decade's experience that the fans like and some of the finest stand up comedians in the world, and somehow the conversation is funny, is awe-inspiring.
How could a room with Erock, Ant, Jimmy and Patton Oswalt in it be interesting and entertaining without Opie "steering the ship?"
What a perfect snippet of how this guy thinks about himself. Like he's some kind of conversational guru. This comes right after admitting he doesn't have chemistry with Jimmy.
opie cant find chemistry with a guy she has talked to everyday for 15 years and yet we are supposed to believe she has "mastered the art" of having an interesting conversation with people.
As if he's spinning gold out of straw in there. Jim and Ant needed Opie in there working them to find that sweet spot of comedy. Gregg's got the gift of gab and those other 2 just fumble around not knowing what to say.
i remember when I first started listening, and paying attention to whose who on the show, I soon wondered what the Boobster's role on the show actually was. Why were the two hilarious guys who do all the jokes and commentary also running all the interviews?
It took a while longer to realize that not only does he not not contribute anything worthwhile but is also a liability. (calling barry williams and interrupting conversations with calls from listeners does not qualify as contributing)
He was probably the one that destroyed his room because she told him to do something he didn't want to, so it was "her fault" in his head. Shifting blame is the main trick of narcissists.
hmmhow about if you cant find the "sweet spot" of a conversation, you dont have that particular conversation.... why force it, when there are plenty of sweeter topics of conversation. This man is an ass and Ant is 100% right when he says Opie never knew what its like to work for a living, despite his own personal myth. He should just retire and do a podcast. Id stop torturing him then.

What an infuriating dunce, with the social skills of an autistic 5 year old.
Any of you find it hard to "find the sweet spot" in a conversation?
These are the mechanical internal steps to social interactions that psychopaths and sociopaths use.

Just how little this had to do with what Jim was saying was astounding to listen to.

People who talk a lot about things are generally not good at the actual thing.

Coming from the worst interviewer in the history of radio (been doing it since he was 18).....

He wants people to think he has a sixth sense for things.
Reality over his entire career is he's just babbled like an asshole until something good happened eventually.
Regardless of how long it took, he took 100% of the credit for it every single time it happened.
God I hate him.

He really does deserve death.

I'm starting to think that his mudder was a saint on ert and it was Opie all along with the mental problems.
