Sherrod is totally desperate enough. A lot of these comics that aren't touring headliners (and even some that are) don't make a crazy amount of money. If a lot of these guys had even 1/5 of Jim's salary offered to them to sit in that chair they'd do it in second.
If Jimmy leaves there will always be a replacement out there. Comics are opportunistic. The ones with integrity get absolutely no where in the business. I doubt Florentine (lots of awkward silence now when just a guest), but I can see Sherrod or Vos. Opie will need someone associated with the show already and he knows he can manipulate. Opie doesn't know how to reinvent himself, its the same fucking show just removing the funny elements one by one so the new host will just be plugged into the seat at half the cost. I have a sneaking suspicion that Jimmy will still be there next contract (I GOT NO WHERE ELSE TO GO!!)
Not Vos. That man is a Connecticut chimp when it comes to bashing Opie. Just when you think he's tame and loyal, he grabs Opie's face and says "Da talent left".
Anyone who committed themselves to the show would inevitably come to hate Tits the way everybody else does, and it would happen a lot quicker than it did with Jim.
The way Vos acted on TACS the other day makes me think he's already politicking for it.
Remember, Vos has sucked dick for money before, both literally and figuratively. He knows how to play Opie and how to bite his fat lip and shut up.
I wouldn't be surprised if Opie had said off-air that Vos would be VURRY happy to take that chair from him if he wanted to go home.
And Vos are Jimmy are close, and fuck, they wouldn't be if that happened, so Opie might hold both Jimmy's income and his best friend hostage right now. Dang.

Opie would attempt a humorous smash but since all the (admittedly little) humor in his body was lost when he squirted a kid into Lyndsi, it's always just a humorless insult.
Vos would last 8 months before getting tired of it and verbally decimating Opie. He's the besht counterpunsher in the buisnessh and he's not going to be allowed to counterpunch.
Hate to break it to you, but very much doubt Jim will leave after October. He's more worm than man at this point and will justify the Greggshells part 2 as a lovers spat. Plus it's an easy job with good money. Really hope I'm wrong though.
