Ranting about this while I wait for this upload to finish cause that's the kind of shit that gets me thinking about Opie and all the hate he gets from fans. No one has to bother to read this drivel. Opie's a good guy... he does so much that is actually good. He's a simple regular person who isn't bad. He has shitty personality traits but when you compare what comes from his mouth vs. his actions, he's always meeting fans downstairs, he's helped launch comedians careers, I never forget the first time DeRosa was getting big and had a gig O&A did this whole bit where Bobo was going to be the opener. They made great radio out of it for an hour or 2, but more importantly, it made that gig such a huge temptation to go to. If I was in the area or anywhere near it I would never have missed that after listening to it. That's the kind of thing this show did that helped put some of these guys on the map. (Also a good reason why DeRosa is such a P.O.S. for that Rogan rant). So I have such a hard time killing Opie to be honest, knowing this. But he just let his 15 year radio partner sink... and he smiled about it. You know how I know, he fucking uploaded the full video. Capitalizing as much as he can. Soaking it all up. Fuckin ruined it all with that. t's like he was at +500 for me and that was -1000... it just killed it all. It's easy to do throw someone some money. It's easy to smile and take a picture. It's not easy to go to bat for someone you barely even like anymore, just because you know deep down it's the right thing to do. So when it came down to making the move that shows true colors and a test of true integrity, Opie failed it, while smiling.
This is what gets me the most about it. Think about how many times, as a listener to the show, you were in the car or walking around your house getting ready and instead of having a quality hour of radio (maybe the only hour you can catch is 6-7AM because of work) you would have this coddled infantile radio DJ throwing temper tantrums over the most MUNDANE SHIT for the ENTIRE hour, or more, and then get frustrated and take a 15 minute commercial break out of protest! WHO are you protesting against?!
So then it gets to be last summer, racist tweets --> some random blogs and pundit shows complain --> Anthony is fired. Let's say Opie fights and fights and can't get it back. So when it comes time to have the rant of all rants. The tantrum that ends all tantrums. Throwing shit, flipping out, calling out execs to get in the studio on the air, burning the house down like you did because you couldnt get 8 hotel rooms instead of 5 for your comedy festival trip or some dumb shit like that... there's Opie, smiling away, acting all excited like hes ready to have the time of his life doing radio again. Can't even believe my eyes. Where's that fire? Why aren't people in studio ducking cause they just crippled the shit out of your show? All he was thinking about was himself. Fuck the fans, fuck the staff, fuck Jimmy, fuck the brand, fuck what this radio show "stands for" or the theme of the show and all that, fuck Uncle Paul, and at the forefront -- fuck Anthony. Yay me, no one can steal my spotlight now, you're all gonna listen to me now whether you like it or not. Well now for the past year, this is everyone saying fuck you right back. Everyone. We still haven't heard from Uncle Paul, but I have faith that some day he will weigh in on all this too. I'm embarrassed I just wrote all of this but I feel good at th same time
i can vouch that he does. I saw Jimmy at a comedy show last year. I was buying a t shirt from his table while waiting to take a picture with Jimmy. Its this big guy and he goes "that will be $30". I immediately recognize the voice as Kenny's. Big fucker has the exact same hoarse voice as he does on the radio. Its the only way I recognized him.

I've done food orders occasionally for my boss and it can get messed up and it isn't really your fault. For example he gave me his order and the restaurant. I called it in on my way and they said they discontinued what he wanted. I blew up his phone and got no answer, so I tried to get something similar, and he wasn't pleased.
