Management didn't like the racial talk or that Ant took sick days; accurate or estrogen-laced fabrication?

In both of Ol' Sweater Meat's nervous menstrual breakdowns, she mentions, multiple times, that management had discussions with her behind-the-scenes about the racial talk on the show and that Ant took "constant" sick days. And that it was a HUUUGE problem.

Do you think this really happened? Or was this HER problem with Anthony and she's just too much of a coward to say that?

Also, as a listener, I don't remember Ant taking "constant" sick days. No more than Opie or other staff (which was a constant "bit"). Am I misremembering? And if it was a problem, why would management talk to Opie? Wouldn't they go to Ant?

The only reason I kind of believe it is because Ronnie mentioned it when he was on TACS earlier this year. He kind of was saying to Ant, how did you not hear about this stuff while I did.

I don't think it's accurate. If it were accurate, there would have been a lead-up to the firing. Suspensions, leaves, apologies etc. That's standard operating procedure for corporate America.

What is more likely: Opie didn't like the racial talk and he was having more and more of a problem with it. He told us yesterday that Jim and Anthony's chemistry made him "feel left out" and he resented it.

You can just imagine what he felt like when Anthony started race/politics.

No doubt. If he can't handle brief visits from Uncle Paul, then hour long rants about racial issues surely would be driving him nuts.

Exactly this.

Did management even listen to the shows all that much? They come across as oblivious to most things that are going on for the most part. From the sound of things what they did hear was a lot of bitching.

I would love to know how many days off Ant and Opie took. Because there are a lot of Nopie shows.

IF they were upset with Ant missing shows to the point where they were going to fire him, Opie and Jimmy would be long gone by now. Ridiculous amount of days off.

It's definitely exaggeration. If not outright lies. If anything opie probably took his mouth off management's ass long enough to say HE doesn't like ant's race talk and they agreed. Not having any idea what he was talking about cause they never listen. But they didn't want to lose the mouth that tongues their butts.
