"were not close like that" is in regards to the Ben Sparks restraining order and the fact that Opies been advised not to speak to Jim because of his connection to Anthony. I think they think that Anthony is giving Ben ammo and Jimmy is a possible leak.
The "I have people that I trust" line is referring to professional acquaintances Opie trusts not to leak back to Anthony, not actual friends. Opies paranoid bruh.

Eh, maybe, but Opie is notorious for claiming he can't talk about things when he's backed into a corner. I recall a time he threatened Stern with some insider info he had that he said he couldn't talk about at the time. I'm certain it was all bullshit, like everything he says.

No. At best he looks petty and thin-skinned as a grown man and father who cares about being goofed on on twitter. More realistically, he knows Anthony likely had nothing to do with the bizarro opie account, and this paranoia knocking around in his sick little brain came out his mouth, but he had to stick with it so he could continue to delude himself into victimhood.
