I've never felt apart of the Jim/worm thing, I have given him a couple jabs but 99% of my hate has been directed at Opie. He is extremely talented on the radio and ultimately I understand why he would choose to keep his job. It's just a shame it had to be with Opie.
I talk shit about jimmy all the time, but he is without a doubt one of the funniest people on earth, and no one has ever made me laugh like he has. Period.
God damnit I can't hear or read this without laughing. Even during their fight he said it a few times and I couldn't fucking help it. This place has ruined me
IMHO Jimmy has been really good for sort of being thrown into the second mic role. I think he's done a great job and been funny for the most part. He knows Uncle Paul irritates Opie and he sticks with it. He is a great interviewer and interacts with guest wayyy better than Tits.
I've nothing but love for Jimmy today. The things Jim said yesterday were wonderful and it was a little bit of the old Norton coming out. If only he did that everyday.
It made me sad when he said everytime he's on stage he's defending either Opie or Anthony and when he should've been enjoying his time on the west coast promoting his show he was on an apology tour. It wasn't even his responsibility to go on one.
He's said thousands of the funniest things anyone's ever said on the radio, but everything else he does is infuriatingly, unnecessarily shitty, and whenever "real" Jim pops out the cunt-reek is unbearable.
The shots must go on.
But they shouldn't be about him having a job or being "disloyal" or any of that shit. Dude's gotta eat hisownjizzoutofmen'sasses.
He was right then too. Not that the human cabbage patch doll needed defending, but he was expected to give an opinion on it because it was a news story. The truth is that she didn't "steal jokes from Patrice".
I'm speaking specifically of the seemingly groveling texts he sent her after only getting one word replies. It was a little douchey, but again not enough to hate him.
She used to open for him. They're friends. Nice, supportive texts only come off as groveling if you insist on seeing them that way to prop up your rageboner.
No matter what we say about him here, Jimmy is always only a good line or an honest moment away from support. We all recognize his role in creating some of O&A's best clips.
He was half right. The major reason why guys like Soder and Florentine started getting hate is because they were being brought in constantly, and because Opie has a bizarre obsession with forcing guests into "character" roles (Florentine is "guy who hates everything"; if you listen to early Norton appearances, he was "angry guy"). It's not hard to figure out why listeners actually enjoy them on Bonfire and TACS. We hate Sherrod, Vic Henley, etc., because they aren't funny and aren't on the same plane as Burr, Patrice, and Louie. I know Opie thinks all the "haters" are easily manipulated simps, but hate can be rational and justified.
That's a really good point. I loved Florentine on Howard and on his own, but then I started hating him on Opie's show and it took me a bit to realize why. Forcing people into characters or bits is something that can be easily packaged and controlled, but you loose tons of organic comedy from it as well.
It's all part of Opie's cornball professional radio training. Even though he graduated college and studied under Wease's tutelage roughly 35 years ago, he still obsesses over formatting. Even yesterday he was trying to tell Jim that unnaturally and abruptly switching conversation topics was "how to do radio".
Unfortunately, it's a byproduct of being near opie. He makes everyone worse. And so much deserved hate is thrown at opie, some is bound to trickle down to others whom he's compromised with his stench.
No Jimmy did deserve it, yeah he was cool today but selling his soul to work with Opie for a big paycheck is a worm movie. period. Everything we thought was confirmed today
It only bothers me when he's a hypocrite. I get making a living and needing to pay bills. I'll never get pissed at him for that but when he shits on other celebs who do the same or goes on tirades about how people who are unhappy should leave their jobs when he's been clearly doing something he is unhappy with (I don't blame him) that's when I get angry.
I'll give him all the credit in the world for today. He's clearly been holding this in for awhile and I respect that he didn't let Opie get away with his usual bullshit. I feel bad, but if I see that he's still with Opie come next October, I'm done
the hate for jimmy is irrational hate from the cumia ass lickers the same way they hated burr for months last year. or they hate him because of politics. or his opinions about addiction. it's not enough to trash the man, we've got to outright hate the guy since he's sharper faster and smarter than anyone who posts here.
They were supposed to know Steve would become suicidal? I would say his weight issues and multiple botched surgeries and medications he was on contributed more than being ripped on on air.
Come on, they fucked with Steve way worse than anyone else and you could always tell it became real. Everyone fucking ripped on him about everything. Anthony even said on air that he didn't like Steve. You could tell by the way Steve responded to them that he was suffering. Go back and watch any "Steve C vs" video and you can see how bad it became. And it funny that you say "How could they have known he was suicidal" Firstly he shouldn't have to be suicidal for them to stop treating him like a piece of shit and secondly I wouldn't be surprised if how they treated him contributed to him becoming suicidal.
Anthony even said on air that he didn't like Steve.
Much like Opie, if everyone at your workplace eventually hates your guts - which eventually became the case with Steve - you probably need to turn the mirror around.
Yea, abuse a guy as much as you want and on air as well because you don't like him even though he brought some of the best material to the show and did everything you asked of him. Yet they all loved Danny, the biggest piece of shit to ever work in the studio. And considering everyone hated Steve's guts they shouldn't have put on the act of how they were so sad about his death.
Patrice saw how fucked up it was, but then again Patrice was the last good thing on the show. The only people who listen to the show now are middle aged working class men who think they're 'one of the guys'.
Exactly. No matter how bad he trashing a were, he was generally a good sport. If anything the staff was worse to him than the talent. He fucjing killed himself, he obviously had serious problems.

The Jim we got today is the Jim we missed. if he had been this Jim for the last 18 months then very little would have probably turned on him.

Today's Jim didn't try to use "banal" in conversation.
2 [deleted] 2015-12-02
Jim hasn't been the most self-aware over the past year so either.
His doctor had to literally intervene and stop his weight loss, he wasn't self-aware enough to realize that he's developing an eating disorder.
8 gchames 2015-12-02
I think not realizing that you're developing it is basically what makes it an eating disorder.
1 cztnnq 2015-12-02
No, we would've been turned on by him.

Same, I felt like such a shit bag when I saw him live.
He had me HOWLING and he acknowledged my laughing at every one of his jokes like a fan boy.
Then I remembered I sometimes went on an internet forum and made fun of him.
20 FootThingOnHisFoot 2015-12-02
he can handle it and i think he was trying to make Tits feel better.

Not too happy about the part pertaining to people who make anti-Opie videos.
That said I understand fucking with your livelihood is a bit of a cock softener . No hard feelins Jimbo.

Jim rules and I'd listen to O&J if the O wasn't constantly trampling over the J like a wet blanket.
5 [deleted] 2015-12-02
1) Jim deserves it when he's being phony pseudo-intellectual Jim, something that Colin has pointed out a hundred times in the past.
2) "The Worm" stuff comes directly from his and Colin's schtick, so its not even a real bash, stop being a faggot.
4 ONAFan2014 2015-12-02

That and his stance on politics.

Jimmy made a great point today about the unreasonableness of this sub, how we even started hating Soder when he was doing O&J too often.
1 HoagieBoi 2015-12-02
